Why Sweden is a shitty place; From a Swede.
1. Land reforms.
This decimated the thousand year communities around certain areas, caused poverty, strife and ultimately many rebellions.

2. Christianity
Turned a once proud and hardy people into moralizing slave troglodytes. everything "pagan" was to be destroyed, every rite, every sacred place, turned brothers against each other and replaced it with the insanity that is Abrahamism.

3. Industrialization
Like the land reforms this further decimated families, communities and rural society. It also crippled the confidence of Swedes and their belief in the country as we turned from valuing family and community into valuing only money and fiendishly envied more wealthier countries and adopted their values, art, dress, language etc

4. ""Democratic"" socialism
Ruled by the same party for 50 years creating an entire class of welfare addicted subhumans and turned local governments into socialist female run moral relativist hellholes, ultimately destroying every public service.

5. Americanization
Sweden and Swedes ceased to exist at this point.

That is exactly it. I think it is a problem that the subject of history is so politicised that it basically doesn't teach the students anything worthwhile. My history teacher back in highschool would frequently say stuff like "And while the Romans were doing great feats of engineering us Swedes were running around in loincloths basically living in caves". He was of the idea that Swedish history was not relevant in anyway except to glorify the achievements of greater civilisations. He also had the marxist idea that you can't teach history through the lense of great people but history should be taught through the lense of the common man and womens experience.

So I came out of highschool with minimal knowledge about Swedish history or history in general. Most of what I knew was basically politically motivated distortions of history. I mean when we studied the Vietnam war there was really nothing about the causes or the effects of the war or the important events it was basically just a fanfic he had written about the My Lai massacre.

Those weak men were created by the good times in yeasteryear. Contrary to popular belief the Viking age was not good times for the north.

Those good times were created by the strong men living before. Viking era loot did not significantly contribute to the GDP of Sweden during the latter half of the 20th century. Ergo your point is disproven.

If we accept this cyclical theory of history then:

The weak men living today would have been caused by the easy times during the second half of the 20th century when we had reasonable socialistic policies and a healthy economy. Which meant that people could get healthcare, education, jobs, a high living standard, etc. The prosperity of that time was created by the men working in the industrial sector during the first half of the 20th century.
