fact: without liberal protestantism pic wouldn't exist

That still doesn't justify that the mods are ignoring an important part of history.

Fact: Roman popery is the whore of Babylon.

Fact: Luther thought Catholicism became too liberal and sought a more conservative/pure form of Christianity to practice

heretic shitposters deserve no attention

Luther wasn't thinking in terms of liberal/conservative values you stupid fuck. Quit trying to retrofit issues of the past into the political terms of modern day.

Luther was mad about the Catholic church accepting bribes (indulgences) for the forgiveness of sins and for placing their own delusional ideas (eg Marian devotions) above the words written in scripture. He had other grievances, sure, but these were the main ones.

Bad post

Biggest tragedy in Europe since the fall of the Roman Empire?

He was right.

Luther weakened Christianity due to conflict. And there were some philosophical changes caused by protestantism that eventually led to nihilism and hedonism.

>fact: without chr*stianity pic wouldn't exist
FTFY

Fact: Nowhere in the Bible does it ever mention purgatory, prayer to saints, or the veneration of Mary.
Fact: Saint's bones and other "artifacts" are literally idols
Fact: Millions of otherwise good Christian people are now burning in hell due the false teachings of an overflated bureaucracy.
Get out pope fags

>Francis is doing what protestant leaders have been doing for decades
>that makes him a Catholic

>without liberal Judaism pic wouldn't exist

FTFY

>for 1520 years people didn't know true Christianity

If ya ever go to a Catholic Church and look under the altar you'll find saints bones

Why do you keep pointing to longevity as a philosophical merit? You've never met a stupid old person or a corrupt bureaucracy?

>liberal Judaism
so Chr*stianity

I wonder where in the Bible it is written:
>Peter, you are the rock, except the church will be in error for 1520 years until some crazy German makes everything right.

>You've never met a stupid old person or a corrupt bureaucracy?
Yes, in private,public, everywhere
youtube.com/watch?v=TnGdFfq5YQg

The thing is St Augustine (which Luther always admired) refutes Luther in many regards.
Lutheranism is a totally different religion. It's not remotely christian
Arianism (britannica.com/topic/Arianism) is more well constructed than protestantism
youtube.com/watch?v=IbgV5f038AA

The bible is a manual of Jewish subvertion. (The Talmud is the advanced topics book.)

I love how your responses are just pointing to retarded Evangelicals and saying "Look they do it too!" Why don't you read Luther, Calvin, Knox, and Hus before you open your mouth?

youtube.com/watch?v=0YG7SaFk33w

Even though this black man is not 100% wrong when it comes to jews using holocaust as brainwashing he shouldn't praise Hitler. Hitler was anti-Christian and they often mix theology with politics and theology with materialism
It's a mess

Luther, Calvin, Knox, Cranmer... all of them had similarities
The main thing is: they mostly agree the first 6 ecumenical councils represented true Christianity. These 6 ecumenical councils not only the Bishop of Rome approved but it rejected many heresies they spread.
Today the same Bishop of Rome they consider the anti-Christ approved and preserved their creed, their Bible and their prayers.

Protestants are wrong about everything: Justification, Salvation, Baptism, etc. They simply invented a new religion according to their own interpretation.

Catholics literally larp as pagans and call it Christianity. Who gives a shit if it took a while for the larpers to call them out on their faggotry?

St. Jerome
"Pope Stephen . . . was the blessed Peter’s twenty-second successor in the See of Rome" (Against the Luciferians 23 [A.D. 383]).

According to Protestants they consider St Jerome as a Early Father but they reject Pope Stephen was the Pope because according to them the papacy is of the Devil.

“Your grace must be besought not to permit any disturbance of the Roman Church, the head of the whole Roman World and of the most holy faith of the Apostles, for from thence flow out to all (churches) the bonds of sacred communion.” St. Ambrose[A.D. 381] (To Emperor Gratian, Epistle 11:4)

St. Ambrose another heretic according to Lutherans because he recognized the Bishop of Rome

>successor
Kys this is not Christianity. Where does Jesus say this in the Bible?

>a priest of the false sect makes another false sect
WOW so noteworthy lmao.

>Let's go back to Christian roots
>and reject all Christian roots
Sola Scriptura lowers people's IQ. Nothing about Sola Scriptura in the BIble as well.
That's why Luther was correct to point he gave the actual meaning of Apostle's words because he wasn't so dishonest to the point of denying Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide are found in the Bible

(((Luther's))) theses was yet another event orchestrated by Jewish conspiracy meant to divide the Christian faith and sow discord among the Christian ruling class and peasantry. All so they could make a quick buck. But yeah, you believe what you want to.

>not realizing the resemblance between the Catholic Church and the Scribes and Pharisees of Matthews.
>the same Scribes and Pharisees that Jesus said were corrupting God's word

>catholic church becomes degenerate
>someone tries to change it
>cathochurch throws enormous hissy fit
>IT WAS DAH JUHS

The irony of you calling someone out for participating in a Jewish conspiracy when Chr*stianity is the biggest Jewish conspiracy.

>to change it
Destroy it. Luther wanted to change the Church from 1517-1519, then he became convinced that the Church had to be destroyed, hence why he promoted separation of Church and State.

>Literally wrote a book saying Jews homes and synagogues be set on fire and that they either be enslaved or banished with no legal protection
>part of the Jewish conspiracy
Sure user

One thing I can't help to notice after the protestant wars every war in the west became centered towards rich vs poor, clergy vs enlightened, etc. Very class warfare bullshit. No wonder why german protestants funded the first socialist country

>he promoted separation of Church and State
No he didn't. Lutheran churches are state churches everywhere they're the majority. Read more.

>he doesn't know that before writing that pamphlet Luther asked jews to help him with the revolution
Not everything Luther said was wrong but he wrote because he was angry the jews mocked him.

>muh Jews n deir liez
He still promoted the Jewish religion of Chr*stiniaty. Judaism is merely a rival sect like Trotskyism and Stalinism.

>Lutheran churches are state churches everywhere
>State Church in a secular democracy
>State Church
no. It doesn't exist. Protestant Churches have no civil or political power, precisely as Luther wanted.

He originally sought to convert them to Christianity, but he believed the Catholic Church was preventing it. He thought they'd respond better to a Protestant theology rather than a catholic one, and when they didnt he got pissed

Luther's attack on Christianity resulted in... basically 40.000 denominations and no Christians at all. Even Rome is now a protestant sect

As opposed to the Catholic Church everywhere except Vatican city?

Both Lutheran and Catholic churches have no power because of secularism, not because of the Reformation.

Reformation gave birth to secularism
The key to secularism is the separation of powers
Even when the French revolution happened Germany was ready for embrace a full secular modern democracy

>Reformation gave birth to secularism
>it first happened in Catholic France
>BUT GERMANY WAS READY TO EMBRACE IT GUYS, EVEN THOUGH IT TOOK UNTIL THE 20TH CENTURY
Can't make it up.

>EVEN THOUGH IT TOOK UNTIL THE 20TH CENTURY
During the 19th century you had dozens of socialist movements fighting each other, parts of germany were catholic, others were protestant, it was a mess.
Europe died in 1517

“To kill a peasant is not murder; it is helping to extinguish the conflagration. Let there be no half measures! Crush them! Cut their throats! Transfix them. Leave no stone unturned! To kill a peasant is to destroy a mad dog!” – “If they say that I am very hard and merciless, mercy be damned. Let whoever can stab, strangle, and kill them like mad dogs”

Luther was a jacobin before the jacobin club was born

>quoting that text out of context
Except "peasant" in this case is directed against revolutionaries in the peasants war.

Still a jacobin
To Lenin the anti-collectivists were revolutionaries
To Babeuf and Maximilien Robespierre the clergy were revolutionaries

You can't set europe on fire and don't expect people to lose their common sense

If it's not important enough to be written down, you can do without it.
The Bible actually argues against Mariology and the devotion of saints.

You seem too eager to look for easy explanations to complex problems. There were already proto-reformers and would-be reformers in Luther's time, before and after. It was largely inevitable and the RCC brought this on herself by her corruption.

>being this much of a brainlet

You can feel intellectually superior to actual Christians in this life, if you would like. The bible states that the children of the devil are wiser in the ways of the world than are the children of light.

because protestant heretics are not christian

No heretic is a christian, and that number includes virtually all Catholics.

>heretic
>not christian

>Protestant leaders cover up child rape and have drug-fuelled orgies in their cathedrals

This is so fucking retarded it hurts.

>Believe that Luther was right to be upset at the decadence of the catholic church
>However he was a horrible person and came to the absolute most terrible conclusions and end results.

Anyone else in this camp? The Catholic Church needed to be fixed.

>It's another Catholic vs Protestant LARPing thread

tfw Christianity is doomed to be schismed forever because faggots can't stop hurling shit at each other

Out of curiosity, could you specify where you disagree with him so strongly?

Anyone can see that the church needed a rude awakening, the counter reformation if anything proves it.

actual Catholic here.
For the most part Catholics admire Protestants (especially evangelicals) for their zeal and piety. Obviously there are disagreements but we are all Christians.

However Protestants think that we're all satan-worshipping pedophiles.

We've moved on from the 16th century, they haven't.

The Karl Marx of his day

>be sent to private catholic school my whole life
>taught that luther just didn't like the fancy parts of the church like the statues and gold
>just wanted to worship God no one else
>people ITT posting things I was never taught
>everyday I learn how flawed my education was in order to present a bias towards a religion I had no belief in by the time I was 12

Wild shit

Because praying to saints and Mary is idolatry. You are praying to literal humans. Then you place undue reverence to the Pope, who is a flawed man, and attribute to him papal infallability. Then people kiss his feet and his hands like he is a king when he is a mere mortal who is taking away from the glory of God. Then he meddles in secular matters and demands obedience from Catholics, when even Christ himself said, render unto Caesar what is Caesar's. Then you have retarded stuff like confession and relics. All of this is not merely distasteful, but downright heretical to Protestants.

>We've moved on from the 16th century, they haven't.
That's a bold thing to say when the last major catholic pedophilia scandal was less then a decade ago.

he hated jews

>implying any of what you're saying is factually correct
I'm not here to have a debate about this with you my brother, go in peace glorifying the Lord by your light

scandal is everywhere and is not unique to the Catholic Church

Fucking retard, papal infallibility is invoked. It isn't like the infallibility of Muhammed in some Islamic Schools.

It doesn't mean the Pope is infallible all the time.

I like to laugh about it online and this is the contrarian opinion on Veeky Forums but I find real antisemitism to be disgusting.

>Why isn't there a sticky?
Because only few bigots care about it?
Would you make a sticky for all of this? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/October_31

Lol what's the mana cost bro? What's the cast time? Does his staff or ring reduce cooldown?
You can't be infallible only some of the time. That's bullshit.

>this is your brain on Protestantism

Does anybody have a map (animation or static) to show how the Reformation spread? I can only find shitty or pixelly ones.

>I'm a perfect human being
>except when I'm not

I wish I saved that comic with Martin Luther it said something like "User was excommunicated for this post"

>ITT: Fuck the new Pope!

The East-West split was more destructive than any of this bullshit. If western Christians had stood behind their bothers in the east, rather than selling them out to the Ottomans, then the Anatolian peninsula would still be majority-christian today.

>Western Christendom in the 11th-13th centuries
>capable of defending Anatolia
lolno
They would've gotten slaughtered, just like the Hungarians and Bohemians were slaughtered by the Mongols a couple centuries before

lifesitenews.com/news/vatican-catholics-now-recognize-martin-luther-as-a-witness-to-the-gospel

Was Luther the start of Halloween?

>I'm incapable of understanding even the most basic concepts

No he was the start of making europe great again

...

>Only bigots care about an event that sparked hundreds of years of cultural and military conflict, and effectively killed the HRE
>On the "History and Humanities" board

so? they also didn't know about the True God™ in the 5000 years of civilization before christ's birth. get over it. a lot of people are burning in hell

Why is this bad in any way?

Hit me with more memes please, this isn't enough.

>hey guys I think you've misunderstood a pretty big thing about the bible here
>no, don't excommunicate me, let's talk
>fucking stop oppressing me, I've got some really good points
>ok, you're in for it now
It's the catholicucks fault

>You are praying to literal humans
That's not what sainthood is about. The Church basically examines their lives and determines "yep, they definitely made it into heaven". So, praying to the Saints is essentially asking them to also pray to God for you.
>Then you place undue reverence to the Pope, who is a flawed man, and attribute to him papal infallability.
Papal infallibility doesn't mean that the Pope can do no wrong, just that he always has the final say when he has to define Church doctrine.
>Then people kiss his feet and his hands like he is a king when he is a mere mortal who is taking away from the glory of God.
And what exactly is heretical about that? Is it now inherently wrong to show any sort of respect or positive favor toward someone of a higher rank because God might be offended?
>Then he meddles in secular matters and demands obedience from Catholics, when even Christ himself said, render unto Caesar what is Caesar's.
"...and render unto God what is God's." The Pope is a priest. People look to priests for spiritual guidance. It's just that these priests also ask him for guidance too.
>Then you have retarded stuff like confession and relics.
"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven" (Matthew 16:19). The point is, Peter was given these powers by Christ himself, so isn't it only natural that his successors should share the same authority?
As for relics, once again, it's like praying to saints. You're not praying TO the relic, you're using it as an object of focus while you're praying to the saint to intercede to God on your behalf.
