Serious question: can communism succeed in a true free, democratic and open society?

serious question: can communism succeed in a true free, democratic and open society?

No. The "leaders of the revolution" will always turn the people's revolution into their oligarchy.

assume that they can't, can communism itself as an economic and social discipline work?

Depends, do we kill the deformed and lazy and those who can't contribute an equal share? If not than in times of hardship them being a drain on society could tip the scales.

>can an utopian ideal work in another utopian ideal?
Sure why not

>can communism succeed
no

> do we kill the deformed and lazy and those who can't contribute an equal share?

communism is not about being lazy and get everything for free, stop this plz, we're not in /pol/ here, in fact, communist regimes imprisoned those who didn't work in gulags and labor camps. All capitalist states are lazy compared to anything happened in USSR or China

It's not a /pol/ thing. Anarcho-communism is a pretty popular movement for retarded xir-gendered fat soft faggots who self diagnose themselves with shit they don't have to explain their laziness. That type of communist meme that has tons of supporters is humorous because all of those supporters would end up in a gulag. Anarcho-communism is a meme, real communism is a step on the path to national socialism.

I am not here to talk about trans faggots who claim to be socialists, let's focus on the original communism of Marx and Lenin applied in a democratic modern society

I would go as far as saying that it can _only_ succeed in a true free democratic and open society.

And a true free democratic and open society has to inherently be communist/socialist.

The CPI(M) was voted into power in a handful of Indian states.

Take that as you will.

Anarcho-communism dosen't have gulags, that's why they like it

Gulags are unnecessary in an AnCom "society" because people are already dying in high numbers.

no, because people aren't equal

>communism
>freedom
can´t you already see the contradiction?

> implying that capitalism isn't in contradiction with freedom unless you are the owner of the business AND you love what you do

I havent said anything about capitalism

Your freedom is only limited by your moral and laws of nature, if there is no government.

>Assume they can´t

So assume humans are not humans? the first second you give too much power to a man he gets hungry luxurious and deviant(as we all are, but he actually have the power to force people though his will)

Democracy implies free will and rationality, I mean humans can be rational, but most of the time they are not.

Democracy in modern times only works, because the population thinks it has the power, and the wolves fight themselves to manipulate people, so it is a constant fight between leaders, but the general population has right which not even the wolfs can cross, and you have wolfs in all sectors of society(legislative, executive, judiciary).

Democracy is a constant fight between the five powers(Media, three powers, and entrepreneurs) population is just a tool, since the roman times leaders already knew that

In communism you don´t have that, as there is only one ideology, and one type of person and even if you separate then in three powers they all will start claiming they are the real socialism and purge one another(because killing is totally okay to achieve the perfect state).

Why all socialists states develop in a dictatorship? because humans are not the same, some want freedom, some want responsibility, some want to help and some want to be helped, some are deviants, some want power, so the only way to make humans uniform is enforcing it by force, and communism only works if everyone is the same.

In the end, to me socialism is the ideology of sheep who want to be played by the better psychopath(not claiming that in democracy psychopaths are not in power, but at least you have an structure which they have to fight by legality)

Of course communism CAN succeed. Look at USSR

> Look at USSR
I'm trying but its not on the map.

>can communism succeed

Only at mass murder, the purpose it was designed for

Define sucess.
If sucess is turning Human ressources into industrial might the USSR suceeded locally over a very short span of time to essentially turn what is the equivalent of 1600s styled feudalism into modern Industrial organization.
The main problem was that it cannot into the Tertial sector and due to lack of any culture or important Education policies unlike most countries in Europe it was clearly behind in widespread education limiting it's actual rise in any industry that is deemed higher tech than heavy industry.

Communism cannot suceed at brigging equality to unequal people in a world that heavily favor specialization. The very basis on industrialization and the source of the need of equality that brought communism is in fact the reason it'll never fucking suceed in that regard. Howether as an economical model central planned economy with appointed forced laborers is actually efficient at reducing reliance on imports of food by mass murdering into famine all thoses that cannot feed themselve if we "collectivize" their recolts and actually bring a surplus sufficient to actually industrialize.
Communism is good at two things, Killing people and Creating more proletarians.

No because in a free society theres nothing stopping me from selling things for profit.

>states
>corporations
>warlords
Civilisation is a game of choosing your oppressors.

No, only in conditions of scarcity there's nothing stopping you from selling things for profit. As our good friend Locke suggests, scarcity is the only thing giving property legitimacy. Concepts of 'freedom' have not that much to do with it. Capitalism worked smoothly in C19th Britain, without extending democratic or political rights to all.

The real question is if society becomes post-scarcity, how can we sustain capitalism? Or what will replace it? Not communism for sure, considering most other political systems organically developed as a response to changing political conditions.

Can you bunch of retards just not come to communism threads if all you're gonna talk about is the Soviet Union? There are people that actually want to discuss the ideology
