Soviet Union fell because of economic problems

>Soviet Union fell because of economic problems

>Soviet Union fell because of Afghan war

>Reagan destroyed Soviet Union because he forced them into unsustainable military spending

Soviet Union fell because Christ of Europe said fuck off to Ruskies and others followed suit.

Prove me wrong. You can't.

John Paul II defeated communism.

If the Warsaw pact had allowed religion instead of state atheism it'd be perfect.

But that's true, though.
Granted, it wasn't solely economic problems, but that was one of the main causes.

Now these are actually full brainlet

Soviet union fell to the cultural liberalism.

>Marxist ideology says capitalism will inevitably collapse due to "objective" laws of history
>Marxist social experiments collapse instead; capitalism doing just fine
>Marxists still making excuses today;
The butthurt is glorious

>capitalism is doing just fine

t. poorfag

Kys

>Capitalism is doing just fine
No, it isn't. the inherently expansionary and individualistic nature of capitalism is the root cause of many of our modern ills. And don't (you) dare imply that it's either communism or capitalism, because that's wrong, too.

>The Soviet Union fell because of the Strategic Defense Initiative

>KGB estimates that if a nation has 120% of their gdp in debt problems start (military coups etc.)
>Gorbachev for the first time ever establishes state accounting
>soviet debt is even higher than 120% of its estimated GDP
>even with western loans shit starts happening including a military coup

Really gets the noggins joggins. And as a question for our advance students:

>Is it really a coincidence that periods of soviet strength in international politics were times with a high oil price.

no, we're going to burn everything down because you did nothing to help us

Western capitalism not so much, China and Singapore capitalism is doing fantastic. Capitalism is still in its teenage years.

The USSR was highly dependent on exports of commodities, especially oil.

When the oil price crashed it tanked the USSR budget.

Thats not the only factor but the most important one.

Like Russia now. Basically a Saudi Arabia with a larger and slightly more competent population.

>the Soviet Union is still falling

>Capitalism today consists mainly of enormous corporations, accountable to the public through the means of shareholders, under immense government regulation determining what they can or cannot do, and how they can or cannot do it. Laws guarantee a maximum work week, annual leave, healthcare provisions, and the right to industrial action.
>I..it's totally free market capitalism, guys! It's the same system as was used in England in the 19th Century! It's not socialist at all!

spbp

Sure, but it's also the cause of an unprecedented level of prosperity, something every other system failed miserably at achieving.

As every good lie does it contains a kernel of truth.

One of the major factors in why the soviets ran into economic stagnation was that they had such a ridiculous defense budget, ut it was nothingto do with reagan, for gorbachevs entire time in power he was reducing defense spending, which begins before and ends after rwagans tenure

The Soviets tried to be a Superpower but they had nowhere near the ressources.

Just like Russia now tries to be a Great Power while actually being a great power.

Soviet Union fell because of ideological problems
Communism is simply a shit ideology.
