Tfw minimum wage in my province will be $14/hr in January

>tfw minimum wage in my province will be $14/hr in January

Good feel or bad feel? Some internet libertarians are saying this is bad but others are saying that this means there will be more money being spent and we won't be subsidizing shitty jobs.

You have the same amount of money around and higher unemployment. You guys are gonna subsidizing unemployment benefits.

Going to be a ton of layoffs and a ton of price increases across the board. Anyone working a trade is going to demand a raise aswell now that the window licking burger flippers are making 14. Heavy inflation and job loss coming your way.

Analysts say it might cost some jobs in the short term but is positive long term.

>You have the same amount of money around and higher unemployment

Also the idea is that for every $1 you give to poor people, that will go back into being spent in the economy. Whereas rich people generally hoard it more and dont spend.

(((Analysts)))

Socialist analyst, yeah. They also say that printing money and artificial interest are good ways to pump the economy.

Which province? Ontario?

Bad feel user, I wage and tax increases have never failed to drive jobs out. Target had to close shop because of high taxes, and now a wage increase will be putting the squeeze on small hires.

You should be spending the next 3 months trading out your CAD to something more stable, and minimizing your debts.

>if they're not internet libertarians who just read Ayn Rand they're jews
Actually the Jews are the corporations who refuse to pay people a liveable wage.

Rich people invest in capital, which helps to move more productive society.

Do you really think rich people tend to let inflation to eat their savings?

if you are in same currency as other "provinces" or states which have lower minimum wage or no minimum wage it is good news for you. your local prices will go up but you will have a really good purchasing power all around you.

like switzerland and europe.

taxes and high mimimum wage => quicker automatization, less jobs. but that is the destiny anyways it seems

The liveable wage myth is too loud here.

Who determines how much is liveable wage. Why rise it to only 14$, why not rise it to 24$ or 48$.

>Work fulltime minimum wage
>Can't afford to live without government assistance

>NEET libertarians think this is fine

>le evil corporations

By raising the minimum wage you are increasing the production cost of products, yeah, the same products that those workers buy and the end of the month. Also, leaving the less skilled/less needed workers outside the market.

I would like to see everybody having a nice life, but artificial increment of wages doesn't do any good.

Fuck that kike bitch ruining this province.

Captcha:
>Place Alberta

Get a better job then you brainlet

It's your own problem, no one isn't guilty that your labor isn't valuable to society relative to other labor.

If you want higher wages, boost your productivity or acquire another qualification.

here's what happens

all the minorities and worthless women get fired and end up on welfare while products cost much more

It's been tested in some cities in the US. The top earners of companies didnt take a pay cut and allocate it properly. What they do is lay people off to cut costs. It also destroys small businesses because they can't cover the labor costs anymore, thus lowering the competition for those larger companies who have the capitol to ride it out.

A better solution would be to adjust the percentage business owners take home compared to their business's net profit as well as lowering the rate of inflation every year.

are you retarded or trolling?

why not $1,000,000 per hour and people would only have to work an hour in their life and retire?

Did I just solve economics boys?

Yeah that's why CEOs make millions of dollars a year. Because they totally provide 10000 times more value than the average worker.

You're not supposed to be able to live an awesome life flipping burgers.

If you flip burgers for a living, you're sleeping on a sofa in a 2 bedroom apartment with 6 roommates. That's how you live.

Minimum wage, if anything, should be lowered.

>people working fulltime fulfilling a need in society should not be allowed to live with dignity
This is what NEETs genuinely believe.

Are you?

I lived on 950usd a month for a long chunk of my life. My L3+s are my lifeblood now. Tell them to suck it up.

I don't need someone to make food for me, I can cook it myself. People only get fast food for convenience, if it didn't exists it's not like the world would implode

By that logic probably 90% of jobs could be eliminated and the world wouldn't "implode".

that would be fantastic

Your parents job would be gone and you would starve though

What's dignity? Who defines it? Dignity to a mexican immigrant is much different than dignity to a college grade with a useless degree who is 200k in debt.

You are a retard, please kys.

I'm self employed, nice neet strawman though

I don't participate in a lot of common industries, I'd like to be able to make my own clothes one day but that's probably too autistic even for me

>setting the standard to that of third world countries and their immigrants

Do you realize that CEOs that male millions of dollars a year have thousands of employees? Do you think they are OK with less gains?

What are "first world" standards? At least a 800 sqft studio, flat screen, induction stovetop, hardwood floors, at least $200 a week on leisure activities?

Yeah, keep spouting off more meaningless platitudes and also kys.

>but others are saying that this means there will be more money being spent and we won't be subsidizing shitty jobs.

That Liberal speak user. Raising the minimum wage is a bad thing. there should be no minimum wage
