There is a woman who is the wife of a bud of mine. They're both Veeky Forums and strong but that woman is in the gym 7 days a week it seems like. Not a cardio bunny either. I barely ever see her doing cardio but see her bench almost 2 pl8 with good form. All her lifts are really high compared to any other woman I've seen in the gym.

There are loads of powerlifters who squat highbar. Lowbar can be preferable to some but do you really think moving the bar 2 inches makes a big difference?

How do you people stay tight while taking those long breaths between reps?

Every time I take a breath I need to re-tighten everything again. It's easier for me to do 6-10 reps on a single breath than breath in and out with each rep.

bullshit, the difference between my ass to grass squat and doing a parallel box squat is over 100 pounds rep for rep. I can't lowbar because my hips are too narrow, i'd just end up doing a good morning

Look up old videos of Eric "Tomato Man" Lilliebridge - he squatted 900 high bar, only switched to low bar to get those 1000+ squats with wraps.

its called lifting heavy. if you are lifting 85%+ your max weight you would pass out doing more than 2 (MAYBE 3) reps on a single breath. It's different if you are only a year or so into lifting, your cardiovascular system is probably much better than your muscles potential still..

What are you calling bullshit on? A 3 plate squat will never be harder than a 6 plate squat no matter how much variation, depth or pause you want to add to it (well maybe if you do a 10 minute pause or something ridiculous).

Most people squatting 600 low bar could ass to grass squat at least 500 providing they have the mobility for it.

Also most people that claim to squat ATG can't even do it because they have inflexible ankles and they're judging their own depth with a mirror which is fucking dumb - half the time they're not even that far below parallel.

Holding your breath is really bad for you and can be dangerous. It can really fuck you up. It puts a lot of pressure on arteries in your throat.

Yeah dude I said in my post that low bar lets you move more weight, just that Veeky Forums exaggerates the difference between the two.

It can be a significant increase to squat low bar, especially if that results in a shorter ROM still below parallel, but it's really not a massive difference.
