Deadlifting with proper form is not dangerous at all.

Over time your muscle and associated tendons will strengthen, allowing you to lift more progressively if you do all the right things.

This video of snap city is solely due to two things or the combination of these two things:
>bad form
>taking multiple cycles of roids weakening the tendons while also not allowing for mobility and flexibility in your routine

You can see in that Snap City video the underarm grip of everyone deadlifting was always bent, while the overhand was straight.

This puts hundreds of pounds of pressure on the bicep because it's in the same position it would be if it was doing a curl.

You MUST keep your arms straight, it will allow for better form and easier lockout at the top of the lift.

Don't let that one video put you off. If you're smart about you're training and stretch regularly while practising good form - you'll minimise likelihood of injury.
