Libertarians don't actually care about human beings, only about muh property rights. So they support a brutal dictatorship to eliminate anyone who opposes the free market. It's like a weird inverse of Marxism.

Libertarianism has always and continues to assert that complete personal freedom isn’t attainable without economic freedom, your beliefs seem to line up with contemporary liberalism so why not identify with that instead?

Also how exactly does socialism preclude having a bloated military budget? Seems like a lot if not most socialist states have been very militaristic.

it's not so much that socialism does, but libertarianism does. the military is the power of the state. centralized power will inevitably be abused. the us government doesnt use the military against its citizens physically but it's a looming threat used to influence our behavior.

A tyrannical market is almost always the direct result of state intervention, usually through a corrupted subsidy system (as is the case in the US now) this can create the illusion that it’s the fault of private business but ultimately the situation wouldn’t have been enabled in the first place if the state had just kept out of private affairs.

Ultimately I think libertarianism and socialism will never be reconcilable because socialism’s central tenant has always been that the state, under the guise of “the workers” should seize private holdings by force, or in the case of contemporary post New Deal socialization (which I don’t think should be called socialism) merely control and extort private enterprise.

For a libertarian to advocate to advocate either is completely ridiculous, if a labour union wants to acquire a business entity through consent and compensation (purchasing the means of production) that would be totally acceptable since the NAP hasn’t been broken but anything else is antithetical to libertarianism.
