German appreciation thread

I've recently come to appreciate Germany and it's peoples contribution to the world. What does Veeky Forums think of Germany and it's people? Any good history books about Germany?youtube.com/watch?v=n8oFKS84-yc

mein Land geht vor die Hunde

Germany is a nazi banana republic. I don't take that country seriously. Sorry.

I like Germany but I dislike Nazism. And it's sad how the doors have been opened for millions of immigrants, which is detrimental to German peace, prosperity and identity.
Germans are a remarkable people, they arose from the ashes of war into a great state.
They are a first world nation, an economic and cultural powerhouse,

I took 3 years of German in college. They have a really beautiful language and literary tradition. Sadly, I've never been to Germany but when I lived in Israel I partied with German vacationers and expats all the time. From what I've gathered they're very polite and laid back, way easier to get along with than the Americans living in Israel, who are typically political extremists who have guzzled one flavor of kool aid or another.

I agree with you but that's hardly fair coming from a roach living in the oldest banana republic ever to exist.

>mfw a white subhuman replies to me
you're not even a human lmao

I agree my BLACK brother. Fuck wh*Tes.

I'd post the sad erdogan.jpg after the NATO drills but I'm worried they might ban your internet.

Too bad this (my) country and West Europe in general are becoming a Ar*b (Turks are Ar*bs) and NiBBa sub human hot Hotspot)
East Germany is pretty good tho

Hands off Österreich nigger

Glad we're replacing Germs.

The guy is a Greek carpet salesman, who has spent his life up to now on trying to become a German citizen.

>Germany and it's peoples contribution to the world

The destruction of the Roman Empire ?
The destruction of the Byzantine Empire ?
Protestantism ?
2 World Wars ?
Socialism ?
Communism ?
Cultural Marxism ?
100 millions dead Europeans ?
Rapefugee Crisis ?

Many composers of classical music are German. Also many philosophers, scientists.

Germans discoveries and inventions shaped this world.
Car, motorcycle, computers, aspirin, nearly all office supplies, sport shoes, printing press, Christmas tree, pretzel, gummy bear, jeans, bicycle, jet engines, nuclear fission, chainsaw, flame-thrower, ballistic missile, recording music, telephone, quantum mechanics, health insurance, etc.

What about the Holocaust? Kinda makes up for it, doesn't it?

>6 million jews vs 100 millions Europeans
If they had totally exterminated the jews, it would've been worth

Those Europeans were mostly Slavs though. Certainly you're not implying the world would be a better place with those around.

That's not a German town, that's Dijon, France, look it up. This is a German town

Here's some more towns

Genuine question - How many traditional towns survived WWII bombing?

...

they have a beautiful language and literary tradition that they're determined to destroy and sacrifice it all to the anglo-saxons
at least France protects her language

On behalf of Anglo-Saxons, I will acknowledge that siding with France against Germany was a mistake.

Every major German city was bombed, the biggest city that survived the bombing was Regensburg but even that city had a few bombs dropped on but fortunately one a church was destroyed, the rest of the city survived

Fuck it depresses me with how much history got bombed in WW2. I've travelled to a few major cities (Berlin, Dresden, Munich, Cologne and Hamburg) and you can barely find anything left that is remotely traditional. I wish I should've went to a few smaller townships, because there is a few left.

Here's a list of towns and cities that were never bombed or received very little damage to the point where you would never notice it although most of these towns escaped the war unharmed. Bamberg is a good example for instance, beautiful city.

Tubingen, Lorsch, Fulda

Good choices

Here's some more, Gorlitz is the largest city on the German-Polish border and it's a good looking one too, the last remaining remnant of Prussia. I should mention that the Rhineland region got the most bombed out any other region. The most famous surviving cities from there are Bonn, city of Beethoven and capital of West Germany and Heidelberg. The Harz mountain region is a good region for towns that survived the war too. Quedlinburg and Goslar are located there

thanks

I live there. Great economy, nearly 2000 years of history, large university, highest density of pubs and bars within Germany in the old town.
The cathedral is pretty shit, but all the other buildings in the old town are beautiful. Probably one of the best places to life in the entire world. Nice size of 150.000 people, so not to big. Within a few minutes you're in nature, within an hour in Munich.
Probably gonna stay here, though housing prices are getting more and more insane.

Quite some of these cities have been bombed and received mayor damage. But they have been rebuild and just appear unharmed.

Bonn was bombed as well

the biggest intact German historical cityscape is Prague btw

Memes aside modern Germany's basically my favorite country.

Get that shit out of here

Of course Bamberg was also bombed BUT there has been a difference in the degree of destruction and total annihilation ... and the city of Bamberg was just destroyed. A good example is also Rothenburg ob der Tauber: no one would believe how the city looked in 45

god damn it

Germany is dead btw

I've always found german to be disgusting and harsh.

No one cares

There you go, OP

>thinks Veeky Forums cares what anyone has to say

Our entire modern moral perception comes right from Kant. Shut your stupid mouth.

I've been to Heidelberg. It's pretty nice.

Iron Kingdom is required reading for Prussia. I can't really think of any equivalent for any of the other German states of the time like Bavaria, Saxony, etc.

>They have a really beautiful language and literary tradition.
Frederick the Great is rolling in his grave right now.
