does your beard naturally grow well?

I should clarify, by this I mean, does it grow to look normal and not like a pube beard or neck beard etc.

He's either 1/2 or 1/4 black. He was a hoodrat before prison, so he was outside a lot more and the lighting makes him look darker in the first pic. 2nd pic has better lighting and he has spent most of his time indoors, getting lighter skin.
