The people here that actually train and post have likely been lifting for a longer period of time and followed programs that , for example, include squats. 90% of your gym population doesnt do that shit properly and only people that take it really serious post here. So IRL if you can do 1/2/3/4 you are more of an exception than Veeky Forums reflects.

This doesn't even include the fact that there are a lot of non-lifters outside in this world.

only one person in my gym squats more than 3 plates, there is a friend of mine that can do around 5pl8+25lb extra for 1rm. saw a guy benching 275 lb thursday. another guy can do an OHP at 1pl8 with 10 lb for 5 sets.

i did starter strength for 4 weeks before i did ppl now my legs are 4 weeks ahead of my bench, and its crazy how important even one day on one weak is to increasing your lifts

I was benching over 1pl8 2 months into going to the gym as a teenager. Squatting 2 pl8 (properly) took a lot longer.

I can only squat 2 pl8 for 2 more reps than I can bench 2pl8
