It really depends on the program. Strength training tends to be less frequent except for some intermediate and advanced programs. Lots of body building programs have you lifting 5/6 times a week.

I wouldn't do more than 4 days a week, honestly. All muscle building, all increases are done in recovery. Make sure you're focusing on that aspect too. Mainly protein intake and proper care of your body.

I workout 6 days a week.
I eat no more than 1500 calories a day.
I feel fucking energetic as hell and I never get sore or tired.
That might all change when I'm 60 lbs lighter.

How bad can it be if I have to bike for my transportation? I bike about 2-5 miles a day.

Nah. I don't schedule any rest days in my routine, I just take the day off when my schedule is especially tight (usually once every couple weeks). It works well this way imo.

If your programming is good then in my opinion it's optimal if you can afford to spend that much time in the gym. I personally have made my best size gains on a higher volume PPL program than I ever did on a three times a week PPL or U/L split. Of course, my strength gains were slower from it, but it's more about your goals than anything.

If you really wanted to, you could do a PPL without the seventh rest day, or dedicate the seventh day to HIIT and abs. Muscles only need 36-48 hours if recovery time, but take a few days off I'd you ever feel overworked.

That's virtually nothing. A mile of biking burns thirty calories or so, you'll be fine.

Though I'd still recommend 6 days instead of 7.

Depends on your program. If you're a beginner and doing a program, follow it exactly as it says. As you mature, you can actually listen to your body and workout as many or as few times a week as you like.

Never gonna make it, OP.

For a nonjoke answer, provided your rotation of muscle groups is intelligent, and you manage fatigue and recovery, working out 6 to 7 times a week is totally doable. I know people making terrific gains with 10-12 workouts a week while bulking.
