you should learn from top weightlifters, calluses are no joke wen u finally rip one. Pumice stone them flush with the rest of your skin. They will stay tough, but won't tear off.

Maybe if ur only lifting babyweght on ur shitty barbell ull be OK but as soon as an eleiko takes a bite out of u you won't look so clever!!!!!!

I had calluses the first few months before I learned about it

I've pulled 660 on an eleiko power bar, am I at the point where tearing my hands is a concern? I have never done anything for calluses but thinking I should probably start soon as I get closer to 700, I see people tear their hands all the time but it's never been an issue for me.

I think I'm genetically blessed my hands are like leather gloves lol. Actual calluses rarely seem to form.


Just used mixed and don't bend your arms like an idiot, the amount of fear mongering with mixed is insane. Unless you're dehydrated, on roids and pulling with shit technique the chance of actually tearing a bicep are pretty fucking low. Like you're just as likely to tear any other muscle that is engaged in the movement.

If you're really paranoid about it you can hook grip. But say goodbye to your thumbs and nails lol.

Or if you don't plan to compete just use straps and train your grip with grip exercises since it doesn't matter.

Normal double over will only last so long. You're fighting against the roll of the bar in your hand. Hook and mixed stop this.

Jesus Christ, you morons, if you do a mixed grip wrong, of course there will be problems. You just want to make goddamn sure that your elbows are STRAIGHT before you begin pulling. Having them slightly flexed and then letting the barbell straighten it out against your bicep certain is a good way to hurt yourself.

If you're destroying your hands every workout, you're not being manly or getting awesome gains; you're just shit at grip. Not only is your grip shit, you're not even improving your grip as much as you could be.

If professional strongmen and the world's best deadlifters don't have hands as fucked up and calloused as yours, that's probably a good indication that you are a fucking moron, you have weak grip, and your technique is shit.
