I'm done with lifting

Cancelled my gym membership, sold my home gym, and threw away all of my supplements.

Such a waste of time. And for what? It's completely unnecessary and serves no purpose.
Muscles are not needed, especially in today's society where the intellect, personality, and face reigns supreme.

To be honest, the "bodybuilding lifestyle" seems almost like a childish endeavour at this point, and I don't mean any disrespect, but it seems like the most serious lifters (asides from guys who are legit bodybuilders/fitness models/elite athletes but they represent a very low % of dedicated lifters) are also the people with nothing else going on in their lives.
I know this was true with me, I was biggest and most serious about lifting when I was still in uni, working only 15 hours a week, and pretty much just plucking around all the time, going out, with no real responsibilities.

The most jacked guys I see are baby faced roiders trying to pick up ugly girls in the clubs, and frat boys who have no job and don't give 2 fucs about school so they spend all their time in the gym.
I'll GLADLY go back to being a 200lb 6'3 weakling or a "non-lifter" or whatever derogatory term you guys want to throw at me, but I don't care. I'll be proud. I can eat whatever I want and finally free up my mind to do what's important in life.

To all you kids out there who are getting sucked into the bodybuilding and fitness illusion, try to stop yourself.
So long as you have and maintain decent facial aesthetics, you'll be fine.
Bodybuilding's just not worth it.

I have a degree in Biology and am doing a PhD in Molecular Genetics, have extensive work experience in businesses as my dad is the CEO of his company and let me do work in it in many different areas of it and build my skills.
I have worked in the security industry too part time while a student, and various other jobs.

I have been lifting seriously for 6 years now, hell I even roided 2 of those. I don't do it to pick up girls, I have a job, I go to 'school', fuck I go to Cambridge Uni. My dad is passing on his company to me and my brothers too, which I will have to run. I will also continue my research (currently working on SNPs for various genes affecting RA & gene therapy for said SNPs, delivery techniques too) work in Academia as a fellow.

I have a girlfriend who I am proposing to in 2 months once I save enough up from work + studentship, of 5 years. I love her and have an amazing connection with her and she's beautiful.

Oh and I'm 6ft, 97kg and bench 200kg, squat 270kg and deadlift 310kg. I've spent most of my lifting career in powerlifting and then transitioned to bodybuilding last year - as a hobby. I don't compete anymore but did in BDFPA, GBDFPA, IPF. Not that I got far but it was great fun.

I've traveled all of Europe, a lot of South & East Asia. Intend to go to North Africa & America next holidays too, do another month out (need dat test u for cruise), I engage in all kinds of societies at Uni, lead many things, uh I did the Uni cadets officer program and have my officers rank.

I still lift, I never had any intentions for it besides a hobby. I have real responsiblities too, I don't just 'lift'. I can and always could eat whatever I wanted, I know whats important in my life and I know lifting isn't the most important thing in it and can easily leave it if need be to go do other things, but it'll always be my lifestyle I come back to.

I'm sort of with you OP. I cancelled my membership but I work out at home now. About 20 minutes 6 times a week. Muscles don't get your girls, you just need to be a healthy weight. Facial aesthetics, styling yourself and just being an outgoing person gets you girls.

Actually it's TRT. I just blast now because I might as well. I ended up with a pituitary tumor. I blasted out of curiosity and enjoyed the strength I got and how much better my joints felt, not really for vanity.

Heroic doses of psychedelics, amps, opes, and everything in between was the only thing i thought that could calm my curiosity.
