Worked fine for Bechuanaland.

Bechuanaland/Botswana had a very different history to Zimbabwe/Rhodesia. It had a lot less white immigration and wars, the tribal chiefs actually had some political representation thanks to voluntarily becoming a protectorate. If Zimbabwe/Rhodesia was the same there wouldn't have been a problem
