I try not to skip it but I just hate doing it. I like to consider my job (construction) my cardio.

Also everything here is a meme

I don't because I love it. But I probably should, I'm way too thin.

Considering I want to live a long life and prevent heart disease, which is in my family history, I do cardio religiously. Key is to switch it up from time to time, dont just run on a treadmill, jump rope, boulder as fast as you can, swim (but not the day before your doing shoulder exercises), kayak, go outside and enjoy your cardio. Literally anything can be turned into cardio

>It's a meme right

What do you think your body is burning for energy when you do cardio? It's literally eating up your gains.

Is it the same person always pratting on about bouldering and kayaking like it's fucking gods work or do you clapistanis actually rate this shit.

Also the same poster is probably the homo that tells everyone to meditate and read meditations by marcus aurelius.

Can you just die already.

Do enough that you have good endurance.
Don't do so much that you're using too much of your energy on it.

Cardio does not kill gains. Started about a month ago and going up in strength every week about 10 pounds for bench and squat. Pull ups are getting easier because I'm weighing less. Also you gain more endurance for typical recreation activities like basketball, soccer, sex is so much easier, and staying out in the sun ain't as bad. I recommend jogging a mile to start off and build up in distance. It does not matter how long it takes but how far you can go. Just ran 3 miles with 2 quick water breaks yesterday. Today worked out abs and ran at incline. Skip Cardio on leg day

do HIIT its not boring

I wanted to do HIIT today but I got some kind of chest congestion thing going on, there's something wet rattling around in my lungs, don't feel right.. post nasal drip or something? Probably should take it light on cardio today, did my squats yesterday and started feeling a little lightheaded.

same breh. 5 days in a high intensity kitchen is more than enough cardio for me. my memebit gives me around 5-6 miles daily

I work as a farmer for 8+ hours a day..if I did cardio too after work, I'd waste away

weight lifting is more than enough for me

Heart health aside, is HIIT really the magic potion people tout it as in regards to impact on body composition? I still do it anyway so I do it anyway, as it allows me not to be so stringent on my diet, but god damn if that Prowler doesn't make me question my life every time.

I was given one of those memebit things but have no interest in it. Still somewhere in my closet, are they accurate?

>if I did cardio too after work, I'd waste away. weight lifting is more than enough for me

exactly how I feel

>It's a meme right?
Yes, and it's one of the most successful memes to ever grace this board
Cardio is essential but it's always fun to see idiots who actually thought you weren't supposed to do it
Farmhands are like construction workers, landscapers, or roofers

Cardio is pretty fun , at dawn or at sunset, watching that good scenery in the urban sprawl that i live in refreshes mind.

>It's a meme right?
Yes, cardio is a big meme.

>b..b...but it's boring!
There's a million ways to make a cardio workout, which can result in fun. There's zero excuses to not incorporate cardio into your workout. It doesn't have to be running (probably the best if you're looking to burn off calories, especially if you do long distance past 12 miles as your body starts using lots of fat as a fuel source--hence why marathoners are skeletons.) It doesn't have to be cycling. Swimming and rowing can be pretty fun.

no, you should eat more.

>do long distance past 12 miles as your body starts using lots of fat as a fuel source
If fat burning is your goal, HIIT is significantly more effective than long steady state cardio sessions.

Very true, but what's the fun in that? It's fun bonking out at mile 18 and feeling your body use fat as the fuel source after running for hours!

...

>mile 18

>hours

If 18 Miles takes multiple hours, kill urself

If I'm bulking i never do cardio. It is hard enough getting the calories i need to build muscle without burning them needlessly.

I recently started doing cardio after realizing NOT doing it is, in fact, a meme. I'm not trying to have a heart attack in 20 years.

bruh you've been cutting too long. you gettin' cranky like a bitch

it would take a minimum of 2 hours even if you could run a seven minutes mile, but even then that's not how it works. just like how usain bolt can't run a mile in 2 minutes because he does 100m in 9.6 seconds, you can't do 18 miles in two hours because you run a 7 minutes mile. the longer the distance, the slower you will run it.

i like running in the mornings and swimming in the evenings on my off days. keeps me pretty trim.

Cutting lawns and occasional biking are enough for me

I get ravenous after cardio, is this to be expected?

might be eternal bleeding

been wearing my HR monitor at work for the last few weeks. My heart rate never gets above 105... cant really count that as cardio. Sparky here btw up and down ladders all day long.

> not understanding op was being a faggot

That's pretty badass t b h f a m

Terrifying

That's a silly looking bikini

Many guys I know in real life who lift skip their cardio, so I assume people here do as well.
I do plenty of cardio, personally, and I also look much better than my friends who skip it.

Had no idea cardio could be so fucking metal.

>It's a meme right?

It is for human skelly's which make up a lot of this board, so burning more calories in terms of cardio is somewhat counter productive for those wanting to gain weight.

If you balance your diet and exercise cardio can help tremendously in many ways.

Guys don't fall for the meme like i did, lifting seriously for 14 months gave me the change to bang girls but my endurance was shit. DO YOUR CARDIO

I know
>it hurts to look at ;_;

I can confirm, mainly with myself. Usually I do cardio, but sometimes I get lazy and just lift for a couple weeks. I look noticeably better when I do cardio.

I cycle 3 times a week for 20 minutes

Cardio is too time intensive to do when combined with weight lifting if you have a full time job and are not a student or work part time

I don't want to cut yet

>guy at work does high brotein diets
>0 cardio
>horrible shits, terribad farts, skin oily and pimply

Never had this problem as long as I do enough cardio, the moments I get off cardio I notice my skin and shits get noticeably worse

Appropriate thread for this question. How much cardio should i be doing to fight heart disease? I already lift 3+ days a week and play sports when i can but im a recovery alcoholic and want to unfuck my heart and arteries of any previous possible damage.

Arnie says don't skip cardio. It is essential to bodybuilding if you want optimal results. Your muscles will basically tire out since oxygen cannot keep up at the rate you want. Or somethign liek thazt im not a doctr!?

Probably a better question for a doctor who can look at your family history. However, I spend about an hour doing 4-5 miles/4 days a week. I can say I have noticed improved regulations and a near disappearance of palpitations. I still drink on the weekends mind you, but walking seems to make the side effects nearly non existent

Is one cardio day a week enough?

So eat more.

Depends on your goal. If you were going once a week (in terms of running) I'd say at least a 5k is good to keep your heart "well". By all means 3 miles a week however is very lax cardio

who gives a shit about the heart, girls ain't gonna see that muscle.

>not dating cannibal serial killers

>monday : 10 minutes elyptical rower with high resistence to warm up before lifting
>tuesday : kick-boxing
>wednesday : 10 minutes elyptical rower with high resistence to warm up before lifting
>thursday : kick-boxing
>friday : 10 minutes elyptical rower with high resistence to warm up before lifting
>saturday : swimming
I'm sure as fuck not skiping it

Started playing Squash for cardio, it's way more fun than running or cycling.

You would never make it in the USMC

>usmc
>thinking you're tough shit

Pick one

I ride my bike 2x20 minutes to and from work. Is that enough cardio?

Cardio doesn't do shit until you get past 30-40 minutes.

>be biology student
>always thought "cardio kills gains" is a meme
>be studying human physiology cause i want to get a diploma in physiology
>reading about muscles
>book clearly states that cardio kills gains
>explains it on a molecular level that i cba to go into here since most of you won't bother reading it and wouldn't understand probably

it's funny though cause i always thought it was a meme. nevertheless won't stop cardio, since the health benefits are just too big

I don't skip cardio because I don't plan on doing it. When you're able to restrict your calories enough you don't need cardio for weight loss. I don't give 2 shits about cardiovascular endurance and I'm still 21 so I don't really need to do anything to keep my heart healthy aside form keeping a mostly clean diet.

you're an idiot

not unless you're breaking a sweat and keeping a steady heartrate, which i doubt you're doing

>When you're able to restrict your calories enough you don't need cardio for weight loss

you do below 15% bf. kcals burned during cardio are 50% pure fat, and the rest is glycogen. if you eat at a 1000kcal deficit you will lose more musclemass while cutting at low bf% than if you ate at a 500kcal deficit and burned 500kcal during cardio

> I don't give 2 shits about cardiovascular endurance and I'm still 21 so I don't really need to do anything to keep my heart healthy

those are bs excuses. if you don't have the patience for cardio at the prime of your life, you most definitely won't when you're 50

But that's impossible. Just like counting. The moment you go over maintenance, it's all over because nothing can be done

There are plenty of retards on Veeky Forums who actually believe cardio will kill your gains even though every athlete and coach will tell you it actually improves recovery.

Usmc. You don't need to bother thinking it anymore because you are it

I have a degree in chemistry and a minor in physics. Explain it or reference the book and chapter or I'll just assume you're a memeing faggot.

no.it's excruciatingly hard

>you're boiling eggs while CHAD is jogging at sunrise

BREEEEEEEEEEEEHS!

Bio student here.
Calling bullshit.

I have never done Cardio in my life and have a perfect 120/80 blood pressure with 50 pulse while resting just from good diet and lifting. Cardio is a fucking meme.

A.Vander, J Sherman, D Luciano

Human physiology: the mechanisms of body function 8th edition

chapter 11

then you obviously haven't studied human physiology

Skipped abs and cardio for about two years, have shit posture and absolutely no stamina now, really fucking regret being such an idiot in my early training career.

Veeky Forums people don't like cardio because they're too vain to worry about strengthening a muscle that doesn't show. sadtruth.jpg

>I'm gonna reference this book chapter on Veeky Forums and expect everyone to either take my word for it or go to a fucking university library and flip to the fucking page and read it, because I am an enormous dumbass who is incapable of articulating anything more intricate than substandard shitposting

the post

are you dense m8? he asked for a book reference, i gave him the book reference. you want me to type out 3 pages of physiology to convince you? google it if you're so fucking curious

What is the consensus on doing low intensity cardio immediately after lifting?

I used to skip it until I started swimming, now I swim for cardio

I just can't walk/run/jog/cycle aimlessly or in circles, I need a destination to end where I fuck around for a while then go back. Walking/running/jogging/cycling without a destination fucking sucks

I don't get this with swimming tho for some reason

Im the bio student from above

Low intensity fot periods over an hour is good for fat loss, but i dont see a reason to prefer it over medium intensity for 40mins or so unless you're extremely obese

Can't run 1000m. I weigh 83kg, 12% bf, 250 bench

>tfw I'd love to do some HIIT but I already have trouble bulking
fml

whats up with the boobtubes swimsuit?

He gave a book reference as directly requested, user. You sure are salty, user.

Mid-Europe Mid-20th Century I'm guessing

>not having a gf who lives at a distance to have marathon sex sessions with a few times a week for cardio

i truly feel sorry for you plebs

I just jog or do stairmaster so I guess that is medium and I'm not obese
I was just wondering if doing that immediately after lifting is detrimental

it´s the ukraine, 1942

>tfw ran a 5k at sunrise today
At least cutting has a good side.

I prefer my gf not looking like an Auschwitz survivor

>the ukraine
>the

Well, i guess it's time to kill myself then~

Are you cutting? If yes medium intensity post workout for 40 mins is ideal

Intensity is measured from your heart rate btw, not the machine ur using

Yeah I'm cutting
alright thanks user

Any more pics?

Gets winded going up stairs

lol for me it's the other way around, sometimes i get lazy and skip a lifting day or two but i never skip my cardio

I go hiking so it's very fun and actually very fun, so that's a plus. I's never be able to do cardio on a treadmill for more than 3 days without wanting to die.

>it's very fun and actually very fun
but the question is... is it very fun?

I mast bait as cardio :^)
