My back has been acting strange on me for squats even though im lifting with gud form and ass to grass. But i don't think i should be using a belt since im not even at 2pl8 squats yet. Should i wait to use the belt till i start lifting heavy or start using it now? My lower back gets rekt when i squat.
Squattng 185lbs. I weigh 146 and 5'10.

do more dead lifts and if your gym has it find this and do weighted back extensions on it
try it unweighted, then for me personally i went straight to a 35 plate and then am now at a 45 plate - can't really do more than that though because it gets awkward to hold the plates, but i wouldn't recommend doing more in the first place because of the circumstances of the actual exercise

At this stage, if it even is lower back weakness (no reason to think so yet) the fix should be to correct your form and deload so that you can work back up properly and also learn how ot brace/engage your core right

You'd be surprised how little people know about working out as a whole. I remember a podcast where some guy was telling a story about how some guy put an out of order sign on bench in a gym and people believed it, and how funny it was. The other guy basically said that it showed how little people knew about the gym, because if he's pressing hundreds of pounds on the bench and the welds or bolts aren't secure anymore and it gives out under him, he doesn't care how strong his arms are, he'll die or be horribly injured when his body and that weight crashes down.
