It's also worth nothing that I've supplemented Spirulina for awhile now just for some of the benefits but one thing that isn't fun about it is that it causes your liver to metabolize alcohol differently so it makes it really fucking hard for you to catch a decent buzz if you drink.

Yes there is. Vitamin K doesn't dissolve in water like many other vitamins, it dissolves in fats. That means it isn't washed away with piss, it stacks up in your body into tremendous amounts and fucks up your kidneys big time, depending on doses you took.

Why is more protein better, exactly? It's my impression that people don't even NEED that much. I mean, we need protein, but 5-10% of calories from protein is more than sufficient, even for building muscle.

Do you notice a difference in your fitness eating that much protein? Genuinely curious. I'm vegan, but I've done eco-atkins type diets as well as high carb diets. I haven't seen much difference either way, but I do tend to have cloudy pee when I eat more than about 80g/protein a day. That might not even be a bad thing, I just don't know. As far as fitness goes I'm very satisfied with my cardio fitness, but muscle building goes soooo sloooow.

For WOMEN it's around 90 micrograms. 100 grams of Spirulina has approximately 25.5 micrograms of vitamin K. You would be perfectly fine taking it as a protien supp as long as your protien intake isn't Piano man tier autistic.

Protein isolate is still superior. Why eat overpriced spirulina when it's objectively inferior?

They sell 5mg vitamin k2 pills and theyre perfectly fine to take. Thats 5000 micrograms, and you do get benefits from taking more than "120 micrograms). Maybe the k1 form is more dangerous but I never heard anyone having problems from taking big doses of k2.
