Ed Hall's pull yesterday

Is this the greatest feat of strength, or even human athletic achievement, in history? A half ton deadlift is an amazing achievement.

lol he's fat

He also deadlifts more than your total, twink.

It wasn't just a half ton, it was 1102 lbs. 77 lbs more than his previous record he set only 4 months ago.

It's fucking amazing. Not just the sheer weight but also the fact that he broke his own record by quite some margin. Whatever vitamins he's taking, they work a bloody treat.

>It wasn't just a half ton, it was 1102 lbs
which is half a ton
>77 lbs more than his previous record he set only 4 months ago
the last deadlift he set on a normal bar was 463kg a year ago. The bar at the Arnold's was a weird spacker bar that was designed to help Brian Shaw's pulling style and massively hindered Ed's

He is a monster of a human being.
And a super nice guy, met him a few years ago at Britain's strongest man.

A ton is 2000 lbs. The one he pulled at the Arnold was even more impressive than his 463kg, simply because of the bar.

>roiding for this

no abs not fit
he should start working out

Is there such a thing as a powerlifter with a good body

"yes"

Sad to see so many retards posting.

Of course it's an amazing achievement, 7.5 billion people in the world and Eddie sets a new world record lifting half a ton. It's really incredible, must've been tough as hell.

they just having a giggle, they problably don't even lift

>double overhand

damn...

Straps man

Ed is a strongman. But yes there is. Most WSM winners before 2009 had good aesthetics.

Twinks don't understand there's no weight classes in the jungle

I don't know about greatest ever, but it is undoubtedly crazier than a shithouse mouse. It's been a hell of a year for the big lads.

if he did hook grip would his thumb disintegrate?

This thread half proves Veeky Forums is shit and its only about the beachy body

>roiding to lift more weight than should be humanly possible

Nice try twink, but not everyone lifts to get over the insecurity they get from being an actual skeleton

Fat Neckbeards

Probably. The heaviest raw pull was Benni Magnusson with 460, the heaviest beltless (raw except straps) was 457kg by Ed last year. Hook grip isn't healthy at that sort of weight

...

absolutely amazing

fuck off you filthy degenerate

That's pretty fuckin' impressive.

>that pure masculine determination
>that nose bleed
>that 1100 fucking pound deadlift

we still have heroes in the world

Thank you Mr skeletal

Its just a bit of bantz lads

A ton is 1000kg desu

A ton is 1000 kg

...

is he bleeding out of his nose in the last few seconds?
this shit cant be healthy

>A ton is 2000 lbs
>muh imperial system
>muh america

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>strength
Yes
>athletic
No

Theres more to athleticism than pulling on bars from the floor.

Why did he stay lean, to look good? It's pretty impressive as it must have hindered him.

Yeah, that happens when they do crazy heavy deadlifts. There's a video of it happening to Brian Shaw when he did the Hummer tire deadlift at the Arnold.

valsalva will do that to you

Don't think he was trying, just a lot of gear. He had very cardio as a result and it helped him

how did the bar help him?

It spotted him.
Theyre new bars made by the Chinese government that have self spotting abilities when lifted by certain people.

Cringe
Its like watching a fatty eat a lot
Congrats u r fat
Disgusting

What body could he have if he would cut.

I prefer his deadlift pyramid set up to lmao10pl8.
Though the 500kg pull is ridiculous in its own right.

Strongman at the time was far more focussed on athleticism than it is today. Weights were lighter and distances for things like farmers and yoke were further. The mass monsters we see today didn't really exist til less than ten years ago. The sport has changed enormously in a very short time.

dat thumnail

Brian is not as strong off the floor as Ed but is just as strong, if not stronger at the lockout. The bar they used at the Arnold was very whippy so it was easier off the floor and harder to lock out.

Isn't this the fatass who could barely pull 135?

>athletic
That's not athletic. It's just strength. Dudes fat.

>12pl8 deadlift
Christ
I thought we wouldn't see this for another 20 years

It's crazy how strongman weights just get heavier each year
In 80s a 360 loglift was considered near worldrecord
Modern-day record is 485

Same with dl
80s guys like Bill kazmeier, Jouko Ahola and John Pall Sigmarsonn who pulled ~800-850 wouldn't stand a chance against modern monsters like benny, hall or mountain who can rep that for 10

almost as if they now have better drugs or something

>american education

Same tier of """"athlete"""" as a competitive eatter
Fuck off

Those fucking erectors, looks like two logs on his back.

I'm pretty sure they don't, though.

>also shit was legal in the US back then

(Maybe GH and slin?)

tribal and chinese characters tatoos

wew

I guess that there's more money in the sport now, so the competitors get more professional help through their sponsors.

He probably has more muscle mass in his ab region than you have in your entire body fgt

perhaps because his ab region is bigger than my country
