Pain in forearm while curling

Do you guys know what could be causing the pain?

Had this shit. I had torn muscle insertions. I was forced to significantly deload any biceps curls for two months. After that I slowly started to put more. In four months everything will be ok. I don't know in how much pain are you, but I was nearly crying

I got the same this very moment and if you have pain at home it's probably an inflammation of the tendon, i.e. tendonitis. You'll have to stop curling for a while.

It's caused by either using too much weight, gripping the bar too hard which involves a lot of forearm, too weak forearms compared to biceps, bad form or simply too much volume.

I figured I am just going to drop curls until it clears up considering its the only exercise that causes any pain. Maybe significantly drop the weight

I get these pains too but they usually go away quickly. I think it has to do with the angle of my hands when I i grip the BAR. Noticed the same shit when doing lat pulldowns with palms facing me. Try only using dumbbells and/or hammer curls for a while and see if it helps.

I would always grab the bar too hard. I stopped, and the pain stopped. It's a bad habit.

Curling what, bar, dumbbells ?

Your morphology can make it painful to curl with a bar, or a certain position with a dumbbell.

Personally I can't curl with a bar, and I stick with hammer curls.

If this is your problem once good trick is to use extremely light weight (bb curls) and let the wrist hang back a bit, this removes most of the forearm.

Have this pain, went to doctor, sent me to sports specialist.

Tendinitis or torn muscle

From my understanding tendonitis is just inflmmation and if you arent a total baby work able. Stretching, rest, anti-inflammatories are your only options. It can get worse but its not life or health threatening

I used to do 2pl8 squat x5 with pretty bad knee tendonitis in my right knee to the point of having to tape my knee in a support structure every time, then wear a brace from the drug store over it.

I got it from bending my wrists back when benching. I've fixed the way i hold the bar and now I feel better.

Preacher curls in a machine and hammer curls, while not optimal, are good replacements if you're having issues.

BB curls and dumbbell curls with supination are really the best way to train the bicep though so try to get back on those asap.

It started a bit ago with regular curls, and how happens even with an ez-bar. Hammer curls are the only curl that doesn't cause it atm

Preacher curls, BB and dumbbell curls all make it worse. Right now only hammer curls don't cause it. Would a compression sleeve help?

Are you doing preacher curls in a machine? This way nothing rests on top of your forearm at the top like all the other curls which causes the problem. This is why hammer curls doesn't give any pain either, I think.

Just stop curling for a while and when the pain is gone start very light with higher reps.

I fixed mine by replacing barbell curls with ez bar curls for 4 weeks. Went back to barbell curls with no pain after that

You're probably moving your wrist too much. Just cut it out.

Just thought I would let you know I have the exact same symptoms as you. All of these other posters are more knowledgable than me probably, but I'm just going to continue doing hammer curls with lighter weight. I might try icing it as well post work out as I read somewhere to do that.

you most likely tore one of your forearm muscle fibers, don't do anything with intense with that arm, let it heal for 1-2 months, shits suck yeah i know if you been pulling alot, or doing something like tricep downs and your forearms just snap

Yeah you need to release the muscle with stretching and press pull release. Do it on every muscle on your arm

Your forearms aren't big enough to do curls that heavy. Deload and build your forearms, you cant force it though.

Deadlifts with normal grip and Pullups with thumbless grip help significantly.

What about a sharp tingly pain in the forearm. I dont get it until the ens of my arm workout usually and it only happens during a curl.
