Not to cause a shitstorm or anything but I kind of had a similar experience to the SS-failure from last thread.

On SS I was stuck at 57.5kg bench for 3+ months or so, until I eventually gave up out of frustration and just freestyled in the gym a little. Within 2 months my bench has shot up to 70kg.

I think SS kinda sucks dick for bench, and I can corroborate his story somewhat. I imagine that it must have frustrated any newbies who have had similar experiences.

SS sucks, we know. Just appreciate you never have to run it again.

Did you eat enough to gain weight? I struggled to get my bench to 185 3x5 on SS despite gaining weight and microloading and only started progressing again once I started TM and added Spoto on RD for more volume. I'm just an upperbody-let who needs the extra volume I suppose.

Now I'm adding 5lbs to ID every week, but soon that is going to go down to 2.5lb.

I am just sharing my experiences. I am not trying to say I am strong, or in any way shape or form better than anyone else.

I just had been in a similar situation, and shared my recollection of it.

I ate at a consistent 500 calorie surplus, which might not have been enough, but since none of my other lifts were failing I figured it was adequate.

Word.

I never felt like my deadlift was a problem though, and thats once evefy other workout too IIRC

Small muscles are harder to get strong. Deadlift uses a lot of muscles (big) bench uses few. Useless (small)

Every other workout worked pretty well for me, when I upped the frequency to 2x a week, it made progression harder.

Increase OHP frequency and volume.
Fix your technique.
Take advantage of the stretch reflex if doing multiple reps.
Try harder.

Your experience with it was "I was weak and didn't want to eat so I stayed weak".

But you want to put the blame on the program you were doing, because it's obviously not your fault. It's obviously the programs fault, even if people say it's a proven program.
Saying it was your fault would imply that you can be wrong and you obviously can't be wrong because you are you.

This is probably not entirely wrong, but lots of guys find that they do better with an extra set or two in their pressing workouts or a few sets of 10 with the dumbbells after their heavy shit.

The program said that a 500 caloric surplus was enough. If its not, then the program is in error.

PPL, only actually progressed during a period of several months when I was cutting at a 500 Calorie deficit and would add 5 lbs every two weeks.
