It's important to label organic produce because it's no different than labeling food in a box of all it's nutritional value and calories. But also the fact that GMOs have patents on them which gives corporations damn near unlimited power to control the food supply.

Yeah I worked on an organic farm before. They were in their 1st year of operation, grew everything organically, but were not certified yet. Even though it was grown with 0 fertilizers and 0 pesticides, we could not say the food was organic or have any type of labeling with "organic" on it. You can get in huge trouble with the FDA and get fined up the wazoo. SO yeah, certified organic labeling isn't just a scam. You have to go through a long and expensive process to use that on your food packaging.

Now the word "natural" is a scam.

Could someone explain to me what a kcal is? Is it 1000 normal calories? Am I retarded?

Calorie is a measurement of energy, what we call a calorie is actually a kcal because otherwise our daily calorie needs would be in the millions as opposed to the thousands.
