There is zero reason to take a preworkout unless you need a kick in the ass to get off the couch and into the gym. It won't do anything for your gains by itself.

For those who need that kick in the butt they are indispensable though.

Beta alanine is good plus the creatine if you're not already taking it. Also 600mg is a lot of caffeine.

I personally need preworkout. I get tired (like straight up sleepy) easily without it. Try it, if ya like it great, use it. If it doesn't help than fuck it don't use it.

It works great the first few times you take it, but as with any caffeine product, you'll build up a tolerance to it, making it less effective over time.

Pre workout is one of those things that either work for you or dont. Caffiene isnt very effective on me. I love the beta alanine and creatine in it.

Some things you can't make yourself, for example creating your own creatine or whey protein is nearly impossible.

But buying a bunch of powders, some fruit juice and mixing it together and make "preworkout" is easy and tons of people do it.

They're not necessary at all. At the same time, if I'm tired, little sleep, calorie deficit...etc... I'm at the gym yawning between sets, I'm not going to get a good workout. Sometimes I'm just tired, I never put up more weight or make a pr on those days.

Now I take a pre with that dimethyl whatever crap that used to be in jack3d before some retard died. If I'm tired I take a scoop, and while I'm at the gym I'm alert and focused. Used to take adderall for adhd when I was in high school years ago, a good pre is like that except the focus is on lifting.

When you're energetic and focused you have a better workout. Also my pre is very cheap, $20 for 45 servings, so while I'm cutting I might take a scoop for energy and appetite suppression. It can even get me in mood for cardio. The only bad thing is that it's easy to get tolerance, so I don't use it always.

The pump pres or whatever, I never felt much benefit from. I tried one loaded with magnesium and got horrible diarrhea when I used it. Even shit myself doing squats once, cause 2 scoops of volume explode or whatever is like ipecac for your butthole. My cheeks were clapping together like a Persian rug being beaten with a carpet beater. I dropped the weight cuz I went unsteady and the bar rolling on the safety rack crushed my thumb. Everyone was looking at me, horrible, retailer wouldn't refund me for their snake oil shitpants mount Vesuvius Satan juice. Just not worth it, didnt feel much of a pump either.

Anyways, stimulant pres can be worth it, though I wouldn't pay much more than 0.50 a serving, and if it's just caffeine, save your money and make coffee or buy caffeine pills. Don't recommend other types.

Pre has been a great contributor of gains for me. I work outside on my feet all day in the sun and heat. When I get home I'm almost never in the mood to lift. I used to take 250mg caf, 5 gr beta alanine, 8 gr bcaa. Yes sir I was able to crank out some of the best workouts in my life. Was given a bottle of Jym pre workout as a gift recently. Super expensive but it's really good so far. I'm going to start taking more beta al on the side I only get effects from high dose.
