Hi Veeky Forums. I just started lifting and have read the sticky. I want to mainly focus on aesthetics, so which one should I follow? SS, PPL or UL? Can I see mirin' aesthetics results in a span of 6 months?

SS + accessories until your legs become too big to be aesthetic then just stop training legs so much and add more accessories

This is my current routine

5x5 Pullup
5x5 Squat
3x8 Incline Dumbell
5x5 Bench Press
5x5 Military Press
5x5 Barbell Row
5x5 Deadlift
5x5 Dips

What do you think?

Do stronglifts 5x5, remove squats from deadlift day and add chin-ups in its place. Run this for a couple months then add dips on bench/row day. Run this for a couple months then switch to PHUL.

Add some curls and do it at least 4 times a week. Also do 8 x 4 for aesthetics. When you can do more than 8, up the weight.

progress will be more smooth, and has a lot more upper body work than SS; also, for novice training, full body routines are superior than split routines

I don't think you know what consequence free means

Beginners should run a full body routine focused on the major lifts.

>Bench
>Over head
>Pull ups/pull downs
>Rows
>Deads
>Squats

That is all you need. You can alternate deads and squats starting off to.

When you stagnate or make no progress even after a deload then you switch to a split.

Out of all the shit you'll read here, this is the most sound routine-advice you'll hear as a noobie.

Going for a mix of strength and aesthetics, is stronglifts 5x5 with accessories(pull ups, core work, arm work) better or would greyskull LP(with same accessories, probably a bit more back work) be better?

Pick whatever you like best. Stronglifts has a very informative website stronglifts.com. Other programs you need to buy the book

stronglifts is not wisely programmed, so you'll plateau quickly, which means less gains

greyskull lp + freq. method for chin-ups and push-ups is a much much better deal for aesthetics, too
