hey Veeky Forums, do you take vitamin D supplements? What about omega 3? I don't really eat much fish neither get a lot of sun throughout the year and was wondering if you guys usually use them.
If you do, do you take them daily and together? I heard you can overdose on vit D.

pills
10.000 IU
every other day during summer
every day during winter

Daily dose is of Vitamin D is like 5,000 IU a day. You get that in 10 minutes from the sun. Take 2,000 IU of D3 a day and you'll be okay.

Fish oil is good for joints and as an anti-inflammatory if you're taking 12,000mg a day. That's like 6 capsules

Cod liver oil. 100% of recommended intake, one capsule a day. Started about 4 weeks ago, not noticed much actual difference, but I didn't expect too, I just know that I'm probably not getting enough.

I'm cynical of everything that pertains to supplements, but have found some use in taking the Vitamin D due to having an indoors job and not often being able to get outdoors as much as I want to...

It has helped, I use about 10,000iu. I use the oil form D vitamin and find it has better efficacy than the pill form - for me at least.

I have (((read))) that vitamin d can cause/accelerate hair loss?

>not shaving your head and body already
>implying that it wouldn't be great to spend less time doing this

This is bullshit.

My local vitamin D supplement contains
>20 micrograms "Vitamin D"
>1 IU is the biological equivalent of 0.025 mcg cholecalciferol or ergocalciferol
>20/0.025=800IU

Can anyone confirm this calculation? Looks like this supplement is weak as fuck.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, really worthwhile contribution.

do you take em everyday tho? the ones I am looking at are also 10000 IU

I'm glad you appreciated it, took a lot of effort.

Here's your (You)

what? about getting it from th sun? it depends on your skin colour and where you live in the world.

You should read up on Vitamin D3 a bit more. Here are some good studies;

I'm an Eurorich and the biggest I found is 300IU per pill

yeah, of course... doesn't do much good unless I take it every day.

Do it in the morning if you can, seems to have been what makes me feel best.

I take 4000 IU, I did have a slight deficiency diagnosed though
4000 should get my blood levels from 19 to 50 in 2-3 months.
Supposedly you can take 10000 - 40000 per day without adverse effects to replenish your stores really quickly but I'm a bitch and 4000 is currently the official upper intake limit.
I also take fish oil and choline because my diet is quasi-vegan. But if you eat a bunch of animal products each day you likely get more than enough choline

Yes you can overdose on vitamin D
even more so if you take omega 3 pills as your body needs it to metabolize fat soluble vitamins (ADEK)
They're supplements in the end, if you don't get enough omega 3 in your diet and don't spend much time in the sun, they're worth it
Otherwise it's just another waste of money

You can overdose on nearly anything, including water.

I don't even know why you felt like this was worth contributing to the thread.

>taking fish oil with ADEK

Why. Such a waste making your body convert it. EPA and DHA only all day

>took a lot of effort.
Yeah, I could tell it did.
