I recommend Mike Duncans 'Revolutions' Podcast, American revolution is the 2nd one he covers, it's bretty good.

I never saw the show but I was interested in it. The American Revolution is just kind of this glossed over blur in our history classes. Like, OK we rebel, the British come over and kick our asses, but we keep running away and running away and win a few fights and the British get tired of fighting and go home, the End

A gross oversimplification, if accurate. It fails to capture any of the nuance or character of the founding fathers. I mean naturally they don't tell kids that Ben Franklin was slamming French Hookers 24/7 or that yeah, Washington was only a mediocre general but was really good at getting people to reinlist and also at retreating, and Benedict Arnold actually wasn't that bad of a guy. But they could at least teach us about crazy ass Von Steuben or Alexander Hamilton

I heard it’s kinda of insulting towards the British and makes them out to be proto-Nazi-Commies who hated freedom and everything good in the world

Nuance often gets lost in childrens entertainment

>Sarah? W..what's going on here?

That's a lynchin.

Unless she's his owner.

>insulting towards the British
who cares. They're all cucks and socialists now.

>dont be h8n cuz wite loyalist bitches love dat freeman BBC

I remember listening to this around when Veeky Forums first opened, it's snowing out I think I'll curl up with an Irish coffee and give it listen.

Really any period of history was never covered in depth enough for my liking, which I guess is what I get for going to public school. I'm sure Hamilton (the musical.) is hated here but kids/teens are interested in the Revolution in a way they never would of been before. I hope some teachers capitalize on this.

If memory serves me correct, Cornwallis and Clinton were mustache-twirling tier. While a random Hessian captain was portrayed conflicted and compassionate to the Americans or at least slave soldiers.

it's funny because the British offered to free and provide citizenship to any slave that defected or took up arms against their masters. One of the reasons the British didn't win over the loyalists in the South

>show takes place over the course of like 5 years
>the kids don't grow up at all

The one with the dogs and cats is better

I remember thinking the action scenes were really lame. Too tame, not enough violence. That's supposed to be the Battle of Bunker Hill FFS. Show me the piles of dead Englishmen.

How many French noblewomen do you think the kid would go on to rape during his Revolution?

Not necessarily. I know I've read that slave owners would claim that random white women living around their plantation who had sex with their slaves were raping their slaves to protect their property from the customary lynchings.

I don't know. I distinctly remember a scene where they find a British soldier crying because... something, I can't remember what. But it was intended to be sympathetic.

>Hooty hoot, hooty hoot! I'm hooty the sailor!

They reused a lot of animation I remember and didn't show anyone dying. The only time it's implied is during that reused chip of a musket falling to the ground. I might make a countdown of all the times they reused that clip throughout the series. 9:34

For a children's show, Liberty's Kids was honestly really good history. It went into some of the lesser known episodes of the war and did a good jobs of presenting all sides of the conflict. It took some liberties, sure, but they had to make it exciting.

I watched this show and Tutenstein a whole bunch. Time Warp Trio was good because they went to a bunch of different historical periods. Tutenstein wasn't exactly historical but it was still fun to watch.

Best show I could watch because my parents didn't have cable.

MOSES NO!

>Brits
>Not hating freedom
>Not being commies
