Why is Japan so good?

How come Japan is so great and small but China never fucked them over? How did they manage to stay the best while having a giant monster near them?

Degeneracy isn't great, user

what is this I don´t even

...

They weren't worth the effort to conquer since japs couldn't produce anything the Chinese couldn't

they were bullied by smug anime girls

They are intelligent, hard working, eclectic, and brutal. Why wouldn't they fare well in this world?

Actual retards praise Japan.
The true patrician and enlightened man loves China and its incredible achievements and history.

Yeah, great wall. Love the fireworks too.

I wonder who could be behind this post...

They posed no threat, they lived in an island surrounded by strong currents and the land didn't produce anything of value. Sure, they could launch a naval invasion, but it would be very costly and nearly impossible (the mongols tried to take japan two times, and they failed both)

>How did they manage to stay the best while having a giant monster near them?
Because there were no white aryans in the vicinity.

China, Korea and Japan had idyllic relations throughout history, with a lot of amiable relationships and little conflict (except civil wars and rebellions)

Well. Every aspect of classical Japanese culture and technology was fundamentally Chinese, so...

>why is japan so good

They adapted quicker to westernized ways of military and government, especially technology. That’s why the japanese killed and raped millions of chinese and not the other way.

Japan is not a small country. They have (and had) a pretty large population. And they are an island country. Invading a large island country is not very easy.

The Mongols tried to invade them twice and failed miserably.

Because China has all the natural resources they needed, as well as being a major center of technological and cultural advancements. China was the only relevant area of the world post-Rome and pre-Ottoman Empire. Japan was a little island that had nothing at all to offer China, especially when China was constantly focused on dealing with internal conflicts or outside invasion by either the Mongols or the Japanese

>and little conflict
Japan on multiple occasions invaded or tried to invade China or Korea. It's like how England needed colonies to stay relevant at all, they were a small island nation with limited resources and relatively lacking cultural advancements. That's also why Japan went full ape in WW2 and started to just rape and take every bit of land they could.

Japan is basically the UK of East Asia.
Island nations with sizeable populations are pretty good for military stuff.

>Well. Every aspect of classical Roman culture and technology was fundamentally Greek, so...

Japan only invaded China in the Toyotomi era that lasted a few decades and after the Meiji era.

>Being this otaku.

Through much of history, Nips were insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

They're literally on the edge of what was considered the map.

That's not a good comparison. It's more the other way around with Japan and China. Japan, the smallish regional power, adopts technology and customs from China, the preeminent power in the region.

>Japan was so shitty and isolated that nobody gave a shit about them for centuries

Japan was utterly shit and had nothing to offer to China. Everything in Japan was just pale imitation of China's. Even Japanese pottery was horrible in quality.

Makes sense as China never wanted anything from anywhere, except for some jade and gold.

brainlet alert

Japs were primitive barbarians for most of their history. Their only talent is endlessly copying and imitating achievements of other, greater cultures. At least China has a rich, unique culture that influenced Asia for centuries. Japs couldn't even invent a writing system.

>china

This. Japan was the bully of the Pacific. They still have enemies among the people of many pacific islands and are hated by the peoples of nearby countries for being a dick neighbour in the past.

except with out the vast iron, oil, and coal deposits.

this user knows. Ming doesnt need to conquer as what exist outside of her borders that China could ever want? Inward perfection was a thing.

Japan has just had really good luck with weather. Every invasion against them has been damaged by monsoons and failed to form
a beach head.

this user also is right. Japan is not a member of global trade like china or the Indian region and rarely influenced anything outside of its borders.
>tfw Spain mined so much silver in Peru it affected the price of eggs in china.

>>tfw Spain mined so much silver in Peru it affected the price of eggs in china.
Is that real? How did this happen?

>Inward perfection

Literal autism.

Every other people has a soul, something tangible that comunicates their desires and fears. Except the Chinese.

Island nations tend to have a way of being the best. Take Britain for example which became the most powerful country in history and has been responsible for a shitton of inventions and achievements. It's the separation from conflicts that ravage the mainland and lack of reliance on mainland countries that make these islands self-sufficient and when you're an island nation, a navy is mandatory whuch is useful as it allows exploration of other countries to assimilate scientific ideas and other cultural advances. Japan and Britain now have the 3rd and 5th largest economies despite being relatively small island nations.

Butthurt Chinks and dumb election babbies leave at once. Veeky Forums is inherently pro-Japanese.

Veeky Forums is pro anime. Japan making anime doesn't make the rest of it any less irrelevant.

Veeky Forums was also pro-cat but now they love doggos

Europe wanted lots of silk because silk is fucking awesome and mad cash money. china owns all silk production, there for all money that is spent of silk makes its way back to china. at one point copper coins were worth more than silver due to inflation from silver currency flow to china.
actually affecting eggs is hyperbole, but the global trade of the silk road was affected by Spanish extractions in the new world.
>Every other people has a soul, something tangible that communicates their desires and fears. Except the Chinese.
whats does this have to do with the political and economic interests of China? i was referring to statecraft, not confusion or Taoist philosophy, though again i don't get your point besides >MEME AROWS UR RONG XDXDXD

>Great Britain
>self-sufficient
>isolated
>England never had mainland ambitions
> what is the hundred years war
>not constantly evolved in mainland airfares to ensure a stable market for its goods
>what are the Italian wars
>what was Crimea
>whose Boneybutt?
>i've never read a book on European diplomacy and statecraft

Kamikaze, they are weather gods, the two times the mongols tried they got fucked by typhoons.

>the global trade of the silk road was affected by Spanish extractions in the new world.
This is interesting. Do you know where I could read about it? And thanks for your answer

shinkanzen

i would but im currently writing research papers and fried af. on the Spanish side Colonial Latin America by Mark A Burkholder covers the extraction and scale of it, as well as Spanish motivations. if you aren't in college or might have class on Latin America you'll probably be assigned it. cant think of anything for the Chinese side though.

Will take a look. Cheers

Japan's only significant period in history was its 8 year tour of destruction around the Asia Pacific, after which is was bombed into retardation by white piggus.

Japan is a neat little curio though, and their porn is top notch.

>How did they manage to stay the best while having a giant monster near them?
You know, sentences like this should be grounds for banning since they are way too retarded to actually come from a non troller.
And of course everyone takes the bait and this htread will get 300 replies.

How s japan good?
Its a dying degenerate shithole as far as I know.

The monster was Japan itself.

They were very cool to each other but hated everyone else. They are like Asian Jews.

>Philippines is more significant than Japan
>Is currently a shithole.

Historically, Southeast Asia had many things the Chinese wanted. Spices dominated the trade, but also other things like birds' nests, turtle shells, pearls, fruits (Bananas especially), and weird ingredients for their funky medicine.

Meanwhile what Japan has China tends to have a lot of already. There was one point that the only item worth getting from Japan according to the Chinese were well made swords.

The Philippines even became MORE important to China when Spain set up colonies there. Besides Philippine products, Spics could pay in silver, which the Chinese considered higher than gold.

Does any of the asians really like eachother?

Japan is about the size of california.
That is not very small. Rigid terrain and shitty seas make ancient invasions impractical.
Quick assumption of industrialisation, and rationa focus on food production turned them into a power.
Their alliance with the US turned them into a nuclear power.
That's how.

The problem with this example is that China is both Rome and Greece. Not to suck their dicklets or anything just sayin...

China didn’t want Japan, user. It lacks resources. It’s Japan who wanted China and everyone else around them.

Kamikazi

duh

I know this question is b8 but Japan was an irrelevant country until recently m8
