No, just cause Hans died of typhus doesn't mean it was an allied thing. Allies didn't bomb Dresden at all, it was literally an irrelevant shit town with sub 100,000 people.

1) While the Nazis were pretty clearly being crushed in February of '45, they were still resisting and still refusing to surrender. The war was still on.

but the tl;dr is that it was one of the larger unbombed concentrations of industry left to Germany. And the infamous bombing in Februrary did not actually destroy them; there were subsequent raids in late March and early April.
3) The death toll, as estimated by the municipal authorities, was about 25,000, not half a million, which would be roughly the death toll of all strategic bombing over Germany over the entire course of the war. Even Goebbels only inflated it to about a quarter million.

They didn't really do anything different in Japan than what they did in Europe; the main difference was the level of defensive preparation (construction of underground shelters and the like), not the level of force employed.

Stalingrad is a fortified position on the West bank of the Volga; which means that German attempts to forestall an offensive and cut off Army Group A (as would happen with Uranus) need to focus a predominant amount of their force opposite a relatively tiny geographical area, leaving them weak in other sectors. You will also note that most of the Soviet advance (And offensive effort) was not in the city itself, but on the wings, in the open. The notion that these forces were sent to fight for some city is incorrect, they were sent to trap the 6th Army and leave all of Army Group A untethered, which they did.
