Why are people who lift weights for strength so fat?

Why are people who lift weights for strength so fat?

the heavier you are, the heavier weight you can lift.

thats why weightlifters who are aesthetic are respected because they dont depend on body fat for compensation

There is a positive correlation with body weight and maximum weight moved. They don't call it fat strength for a reason.

Such bullshit the heavier the are the more u can lift

They are fat just because they eat a fuckton before every training and also on restdays to recover maximum and never really cut weight

Thats all

Look everyone, it's trying to communicate with us.

Most really good lifters store a small electric motor in their stomachs. It's wired up to all manner of cables crossing the joints and kicks in when you hold your breath, but the battery pack takes up a lot of room. You didn't know, OP?

...

only the weightclasses with no upper limit have fatties in them, what a surprise

i swear this is just weak bait but some of you are so fucking dumb.

literally every weightlifter up to -75 for women and -105 for men are somewhat lean yet faggot op sees one picture of a fat weightlifter and thinks he can be edgy about it because he needs an excuse for his 2 plate squat

Whats so hard to understand
Shit fit is full of brainless lads

Diminishing returns on strength and muscle per pound gained.

It's doing it again. I swear to God that it sounds like it's talking to us.

Kek'd but dont even know why

Only the top 2 weight classes have real fatties.

Cutting weight makes you lose strength, so when there's no incentive to make weight you don't worry about it.

Also, Newton's Third law. Every bit of force you put into moving the bar the bar pushes back trying to move you. The heavier you are the better you are at resisting that.

are you artistic?

The bigger you eat, the bigger you get, muscles and fat (if you're training hard, that is). If you want to be the absolute strongest, you need to constantly lift heavy and make sure you're eating a ton, so you always have enough to build every tissue that will build. Cutting is bad for strength, even if only a little, so olympians don't do it, generally.

It's not strictly true that the heavier you are, the more you lift. If you stay sculpted and train for asthetics, you'll be stronger than if you were a fatty couch potato. If you train purely strength and stay cut, you'll probably be stronger than if you bodybuild for size, even if you would weigh more as a bodybuilder.

But I get your point - at your absolute strongest possible, you'll probably be your heaviest training weight.

Superheavyweights are fat because they have no incentive not to be and they get an edge by eating so much. All the other weight classes tend to be lean.

gotta eat big to get big
also cutting is a bitch to gain strength on
>tfw proud strongfat manlet

Having greater body mass allows you to get better leverage on the weights. If you hold a heavy object with your hands extended in front of you, your center of mass is now a little bit in front of your feet, and you can feel it. If your body weighs more, then it will take more weight to offset your center of mass. This can make a big difference when lifting really heavy weight. What you said is true too, but leverage is a big factor too

learned something today

thx m8

because you're cherrypicking images from the highest weight classes...

>Why are people who lift weights for strength so fat?

>because you're cherrypicking images from the highest weight classes...

that picture is from the highest female weight class. are you retarded?

I was just showing what the highest weight class looked like.

why do they look retarded

NK doesn't look happy...

>NK doesn't look happy...
Third place wins to get third place. Second place loses to get second place.

Both of those guys are clearly on gear

Spotted the skelly

>second place family lose freedom

That's cuz she lost by 1 fucking kilo
Or that kim jung un is going to behead her for losing

i read somewhere that the mindset is silver is unhappy about losing gold, but bronze is happy about not being 4th.

Both

off to the salt mines.

Are you pruod of your low cgoinitve slkil? Eevn if the wroidng is a mses aoynne whit a hlaf foninunctig brian can diphecer what he maens.

>That image
That's what happens when you don't fucking breath.

Same with powerlifters. Only the superfat weight class are actually fat - even the 105 class are still recognisably human, and the 93kg and below are lean as anything.

Not all people who train for strength are fat. Also if they go on a cut they will have a lot more muscle than you probably ever will.

Another aspect is being natural. You can't expect someone to be 100kg+ while also at 12% body fat and not be taking shit tonnes of PEDs, drugs, etc. Olympians have to pass anti-doping regulations meaning if they want to roid then they have to take very controlled substances & dosages.

Look at the lighter weight classes. 50-90kgs. A lot of the competitors are a lot leaner.

>implying the fatter weightlifters in the olympics aren't also on gear yet competing at an elite level

That's just how he looks

That must hurt like a bitch, though. I get vascular tension when working out. It's brain-rending.

Upboated :]

Thanks user

E=mc2 mother fuckers

Yeah and those fatter lifters will have more energy to expend on heavy lifts where as the lower body fat lifters will not. It's straight forward math.

>Yeah and those fatter lifters will have more energy to expend on heavy lifts where as the lower body fat lifters will not. It's straight forward math.

Fucking idiot. They will not. I mean god damn, you're stupid.

They're women.

lighter weight classes means they have a limit of weight. you can't afford to have a too high bodyfat if your max weight is 77kg, you're basically losing muscle mass.

>what are weight classes

If there is an upper limit to your weight then to be at your most competitive it is in your interest to make as much of it muscle as possible. So, a 74 kg powerlifter with 10% bodyfat has around 66.6 kg of lbm, whereas a relatively chubby one at 15% has only 62.9. Given similar levels of cns adaption and training the leaner competitor has more of his bodyweight helping him move weight. However, with no limit to your weight you may as well get as big as possible, since this both improves leverages in the bench and squat, and will give you more lbm, despite the obvious plateau in how much you can gain in muscle, even on gear. That's it, any responses disagreeing with this are bait.
