u wut m8?

Because Russia was for a very long time culturally isolated from Europe and took a different development.

How? So was Spain

No, Spain was not geographically isolated from Europe for centuries. Like until Peter the Great Russia didn't even show up on the European Radar and even then it was trailing centuries of cultural development.

You know about the Byzantines right?

Spain was controlled by Muslims for a few hundred years, meanwhile it has well over two thousand as a part of Europe especially when one considers that the contiguous reach of the Celtic civilisation went into the Iberian peninsula

Yes it was

They were cucked by Muslims and the Pyrenees
Iberia was a backwater until 1492

>Why isn’t Russia/Ukraine/Belarus considered European?
It is?
Those countries are more European than the UK

It is.

He said high culture, not bydlo culture.

It is

Dumb brainlet

>Iberia was a backwater until 1492
That's just moving the goalposts. The question wasn't whether Iberia was a backwater or not it was whether or not it was culturally a part of Europe. Indo-European settlers came onto the peninsula at around 1000 BCE: Celts came in around 300 years later, they had direct contact with the Carthaginians in the 300's BCE, parts were in Roman control for well over 700 years before falling to the Germanic Barbarians which lasted for another 300 years.
So even to be generous of the 3000 years of Iberia being a part of Europe only 400 was spent under the Muslims and even that wasn't the whole peninsula and of that 400 years at least half of the peninsula remained under their control for 200 years.

>They were cucked by Muslims
So were parts of Italy, so was a sizeable part of eastern Europe, so was Greece, hell even parts of what would become modern day France were. The Ottomans controlled Greece for 400 years, most of Iberia was free from the Muslims in less time than that. Are you seriously going to argue that Greece isn't European?

> Why isn’t Russia/Ukraine/Belarus considered European?

European Russia alone counts for literally 40% of Europe's entire landmass.

Anyone who does not consider it European is a retard.

Let alone Ukraine or Belarus, which are total Euro's and far more racially homogenous than western Europe when it comes to "white people".

Russia was cucked by the Mongols at one point but how the fuck is Belarus not European? They're some of the most European people in the world.

but is them that don't want to be considered european

>European Russia alone counts for literally 40% of Europe's entire landmass
European is a cultural as well as geographic term. No one denies their physical presence as part of Europe.

Russia is European. Genes are mostly European, language is Indo-European, religion is Greek Christianity, alphabet is derived from Greek. The only people who would reject the idea of Russia being European are brainlets who think European is a synonym of rich and special snowflakists like Dugin.

>The only people who would reject the idea of Russia are
A lot of Russians.

Yes, special snowflakists who insist Russia has its "own path". The byproduct of late 19th century slavophilism.

I think that culturally European is a spectrum rather than a switch and that Russia exists right at the point where the two sides blend into each other so much that I could understand why people would fall on either side.

But ... but russians don't want to feel sissy europeans, they feel manly enough to be RUSSIAN, believe i live with them, manly as fuck, and i've seen americans in slav countries and how they behave like idiots ...

Who said anything about Americans

It is? A bunch of butthurt amerimutts and C*tholic wannabe "Christians" won't change that.

>literally had to westernise (europeanise) as late as 18th century
>totally european
lmao

It's just fools who think "Europe" is a "great idea" of secular humanism passed down from Plato talking about featherless bipeds to Susan G. Komen breast cancer awareness. Greece was European until it became Christian. Russia may have been Europe under womyn ruler Catherine *forces females into Civilization games for affirmative action* but that's it.

they are you stupid nigger lover

It used to be "European" until communism. It made all the existing cultural differencies look bigger and cut the cultural ties between Russia and the rest of Europe, so Europeans and Russians stopped interacting as intensely as they did before. When Russia went back to "normal" meeting Russians was like meeting a friend from school after 20 years. It's still the same guy but you have nothing in common besides a distant past.
