I ran into the same thing and I think it's because when your not lifting your bored AF. When I didn't work out I had fuck all to do because I just bought all my food pre-made and played video games/ surfed the internet until I got bored, then jerked off for lack of shit to do. Now I lift 3 times a week for about 1hr and 30min and do light cardio on my off days, on top of that I'm actually cooking for myself (and thus shopping), spending time on fitness blogs and recording my weight and gains. In addition, I go to bed earlier and sleep more because I use my energy working out. Now I have a hard time fitting everything into my day and am rarely bored so I jerk it way less.

both diets sound really legit

the veggies and fruit get absorbed in a matter of minutes if you are lifting
if there is not much room for the body, the libido gets compromised

i would pump up the complex carbs a little bit, or better eat a complex 'easy' carb, like potatoes

to put it in perspective:
breakfast: cool as it is
lunch: add a slow complex carb
dinner: add a 'fast' complex carb

throw in some nuts / eggs for the omega and colestherol gains

in my experience, mashed potatoes does wonders for recovery, sleep, and libido

also don't forget your daily 15 mins of sun. this is MANDATORY, and it is ridiculous how cheap and powerful it is for glucose and protein sparse

For me what worked was upping intake of healthy fats and making sure I got enough vitamine D as well as zink and magnesium. Also reducing calorie deficit to around 600-800kcal instead of 1000-1200kcal, and doing cardio more often but less of it each time (20 min run every other day instead of 40 min run 1-2 times a week).
