You literally can't change the resistance, and you can't quantify it, either. It's for people who literally can't afford the gym or don't have one anywhere near them and can't have a home gym or for children, soccer moms, and old people who can't do anything else without injuring themselves.

If you have some decent method of loading them, pushups are superior in one major way: Free movement of the scapula, which removes a fair amount of the shoulder issues associated with benching.

Doesn't help you much if you're intending to be a powerlifter - although some do use loaded pushups as assistance or deload work - but that's different to general strength.

You'd likely stall. You might be able to get away with it if you rotate different rep ranges and volumes throughout the week, but I don't see the point. It's better to do deadlifts one day of the week, and then a lighter variation on another day (like SLDLs).

I dead lift like 4 times a week (srs)
Monday: Chest and Biceps
Tuesday: Full Body (incl. deadlifts only 225 lbs x 10 reps though)
Wednesday: Back (deadlifts - 4 plate 1 rep)
Thursday: Full Body (incl. deadlifts)
Friday: Shoulders
Saturday: Full Body (incl. deadlifts)
Sunday: Rest

Probably made the most amount of gains in my back in the past 3 months than I ever have.

I did this.

5x5 deficit deads on Monday.

Some speed triples on Wednesday with chains.

Then hit a rep max on Friday. Add 10 lbs each Friday. Started with 405x7.

Pic related is my gains over time. I worked up 525, failed 535, then reset. Hit 535 on my second cycle, then I immediately hurt my playing in the snow and couldn't lift for months. lel

Did something similar to it again last month and hit 545 weighing 185.

I do similar, I have a rep max day, although i reset that when it falls below 5s, I have a day when i hit a heavy 3 or 2 in some variant (pause, defecit etc) and i typically do my volume with conventional deads, 3-5*5, slowly ramping to whatever feels good
