farmer's walks are great for building forearms.
doing lots of pullups helps, too, since your forearms are helping to hold your weight up.

Doesn't matter how big or small you are. If your jacked with a panic neck you'll look like a puss. If your a skeleton with a thick neck you'll still have some semblance of masculinity.

i have to disagree with other posters about traps

small traps make your shoulders appear wider and therefore you look 'bigger'

also, performing front squats instead of regular squats or deads keeps your hips and ass from getting big (front squats focus on quads), therefore your hips are narrower, giving you a V shape, especially combined with no traps

wide dips and neck press gives your pecs an appearance of wideness- ie, straight pec line into the arm/shoulder instead of a curved line

the more forward your knees are in a squat the more you use your ass to extend the hip, front squats are better for ass gains compared to other forms of squats

It depends on how deep you're taking your front squats. If you go ass to grass, regardless of the squat, you're going to have to use your glutes. You're right, there's just a bit of a caveat.
