I think rest is completely blown out of proportion on how good it is to help gain mass. It all depends on the person to be honest, I can train 6 days a week if I want, but on the rest day i'm pretty buggered, I know people who can train 7 days a week and still get gains. I think the optimum amount of rest is 2 days for novice / intermediate, unless you're on gear that is. The only time you should rest more is if you have severe doms or an injury.

I've been lifting for a week straight and I guess I should take a rest day, but I feel like lifting and want to go to the gym
