I've been stalled at 135 hop 3x5 for almost a solid year. Its my only major lift that's really lagging. I can do 145 x3 and 155x1 but my lower back really starts to hurt. I've tried internally rotating my hips and glutes, but no real progress. What do I do? Is it a core issue? I legitimately neglect ab work, but I don't know if thats REALLY what's holding me

My legs get gains like crazy, but my upper body takes much more time to improve.

135 isn't really 'such low weight' for OHP desu. Maybe by Veeky Forums standards it is, but it's more than enough weight to fuck up your back if you aren't careful. A belt can't hurt user.

A belt is not a bulletproof vest, it's intended to give you a tighter core by making it easier to brace your core against it(because it's solid) it does not:
-Give you strength
-Give you a strong core
-Give you good form
-Give you gains
-Give you a program so you can stop being a pussy

the belt doesn't directly protect your spine. what it does is it serves as a wall so you can breathe into your diaphragm and expand your core against the belt. that's how you're supposed to brace your core and you can do it without a belt, but a belt gives you a physical aid. with a tighter, better braced core you are less likely to snap your shit and can prob lift a bit more.
