I see this posted all the time, I don't see the problem with working the chest twice a week instead of three times once you've reached an intermediate level of strength to body weight ratio.

Even more so if your focus is size.

Is a 20 sets per week which is within the 9-21 sets per week guideline that a majority of programs suggest. If you're doing 5x5 three times a week that's 15 sets right there, so you're only doing 25% more volume as it is.

It depends what you're doing. I was doing a heavy full body compound workout 6 days a week and while I made solid gains my progress was quite slow. I've cut down to 5 now and it's picked up again. Just be smart about how you train and remember more gear isn't necessarily better.
