And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our life styles are probably comparable, I simply am not there.

No i dont think video games themselves were the problem itself but rather how much time you spend in front of the computer and your childhood environment. Chad plays vg too, the difference is that after he turns off his console his mind instantly shifts to the current reality, whereas a gamer's brain still thinks in terms of video games in real life, hence the feelings of inadequacy and awkwardness.

I used to play wow in high school up through WOTLK. No game felt as fun after that and I've never been able to get into vidya again.
