Russia and Serbia were not officially allies. Italy had more "legitimate" cause to declare war on Austria for its invasion than Russia. Italy and Austria had agreed that neither would meddle in the Balkans without the others permission, a promise Austria broke by invading Serbia.

France was much less keen for war than most people say they were. The Revanchism movement had mostly been abandoned, pro-war elements lost the 1889 general election in France years before and had slowly lost most support in the following years. It is also not entirely clear if Russia would have invaded Austria, they had only begun to mobilise their forces and had not declared war.

Russia was going to attack Austria you fucking brainlet. If you want to make an argument for Germany being at fault you should point to them promising to help Austria-Hungary if Russia intervened on Serbia's behalf.

In 1914 mobilisation means war and the Germans made this very clear to Russia before they declared war.

Even if Russia had attacked Austria the result would be France and Germany economically supporting their sick friends. WW1 would have been a tard fight and not nearly as bad as it was.

Austria-Hungary wouldn't have stood a chance against Russia together with Serbia and Germany would have lost an ally. German leadership did at the time overestimate the Russian bear, but in the real course of events we see that Germany always had to prop up their ally during the course of the conflict, even for defeating little Serbia (along with the help of Bulgaria).
