Look at a country like Germany where the biggest sticking point in negotiations with the SPD is that they don't want to set a limit on the number of migrants accepted. They did however have the numbers to take over several regions of the country, which sort of legitimates the fears of their growing political power. Boston is no longer an English or Scottish city, it's an Irish city. Germany is a perfect example of the same exact phenomenon that's occurring in the US, it supports my argument. The left can't obtain total victory by playing by the rules, so instead they've opted to cheat. They import migrants from other countries and give them citizenship to increase their voter base, because obviously the migrants will vote for the party that wants looser borders. Muslim migrants in Germany vote overwhelmingly for the left just like Latino migrants in the US. So now that they've imported this left-leaning population, they're able to push even farther left with their policy.

After the first landing there were a few more token missions but that was it. Not to downplay the accomplishments of the crews of the ISS, but in the nearly 5 decades since then not that much has really been accomplished.

You do realize that ultimately it would be a greater smear on the US constitution than any act ever conceived. Not to mention, it's just not happening. Nobody besides a relatively small group of hardlines actively supports this.

First off I should say that I think there is a fundamental difference between legal and illegal immigration, the former should be encouraged while the latter greatly discouraged. I know some disagree on that, and view deportations as a violation of human rights, but I find those arguments generally unconvincing. So that out of the way I think immigration is a positive to society not because they will (according to you) vote the way I want them to, but because we get the best and brightest from every nation without having to invest the time and money in raising and educating them. They're already highly trained professionals who will only enhance America's competitiveness in the world. It also has an ideological component to me, deep down I truly believe that there is an exceptionalism to America. Call me idealistic if you want, but it is the land of opportunity, the empire of liberty. People can leave their repressive shitholes behind, come here and be whatever they want to be, no one cares where you came from. If you live here and love America then you're as American as they come. Now personally I think that's a strength. Having our national identity not be tied to any sort of shared racial identity, but rather just a desire for freedom.
