If global warming turns out to be fake, or at least it turns out to be not affected by human intervention, how do you think it would impact society's views on science and it's influence on education, politics and religion?

Kill yourself.

You're making the mistake of thinking this well ever be proven either way
If in 2120 we're all knee deep in water plenty of people will say it's either our imagination or a natural cycle
Conversely if temperature changes remain negligible plenty of the other camp will say it's all down to out efforts and we dodged a bullet

Yeah, that makes sense, but if the CO2 emissions stay the same and the planet gets something like a 5 year in a row cool down it would be pretty difficult to defend the idea of global warming caused by CO2 in the atmosphere

I think all climatologists hate the term "global warming" even though there has been a global upward trend because it gives every retard the opportunity to claim that it's a hoax when it snows a bit too much in a particular winter. "Climate change" is a better term because it doesn't just refer to temperature but to desiccation, flooding, extreme storms etc.
Now as to your hypothesis, I don't see how we could have a 5 year cool down unless a massive volcano erupts or a meteor hits us both of which are pretty obvious events. But I guess purely as a thought exercise - yes, it would be a big hit to the climate change movement. Like I said, plenty of people already denounced it because it's cold in New England in January

>global warming has to be fake or cause an apocalypse
it's artificial climate change and will at most cause coastal areas to recede inwards which can easily be diverted at important locations like cities and harbors. chocolate and other localized commodities affected won't "go extinct", their prices will just go up.
most of the stuff about how the atmosphere will be destroyed over the next century is bullshit which uses obviously incorrect linear models.

I was just demonstrating that even in the extreme scenarios people would have their heads up their asses. More so in a middling scenario

It won't be that easy to just deflect the water
many areas are already built on reclaimed land and not every country has the resources for Netherlands tier constructions

I live in a country whose education system wasn't completely destroyed by the series of socialist reforms that swept through the west during the 1980s, and from here it's clear to see the "global warming" for insanely idiotic hogwash it is. I get a portion of culture shock whenever foreign people on the internet debate it is as an actual phenomenon. It's a religious form of cultural marxism, via eco-worship and the "harmony with nature". You can trace its origins back to the Frankfurt school and leftist American campuses in 1960s, but nowhere in climatology or geology.

>how do you think it would impact society's views on science and it's influence on education, politics and religion?
As I said, enironmentalism is a substitue for relgion. In taps well into Judeo Christian beliefs about the perfect Edem and humans that commit original sin by destroying it. Well, do you see Christians dropping their religion because they're tired of waiting the Second Coming? Environmentalism will adapt and thrive feeding of human ignorance just as well; the harder is evidence against its dogmas, the more zealous and uncompromising it will have to be.

What country? America? North Korea? China? Russia?

Russia.

well, no matter how many whacky noo noo kooky kool aid chugging new age hippies there are, it doesn't change the fact CO2 absorbs infra red

>Russia
>Not completely destroyed by socialist reforms

a republican will sit for more then 2 terms, aint far now. hyperinflationary collapse within 70 years also

People already don't believe scientists. Ignorants and ideologues from Youtube are considered more trustworthy so no matter what happens this trend will continue.

This is a good example. It's similar in other East European countries.

>it doesn't change the fact CO2 absorbs infra red
yes because it's not true

Why did you quote half of my post without addressing any of the quoted points? You do realize it doesn't contribute anything to the discussion?
>it doesn't change the fact CO2 absorbs infra red
What does CO2 has to do with anything? The overwhelming majority of models (including CO2) have consistently over-predicted global temperatures. Realize that it is only a *hypothesis* that CO2 is a major driver of rising temperatures. This hypothesis is based on the fact that CO2 traps certain wavelengths of light. Problem is, the climate of the entire planet behaves differently than a sample of CO2 in a conrolled lab environment, and the obesrvations made in a lab setting do not necessarily translate to the context of the global climate. When models fail to generate accurate predictions time after time, this is a very good stimulus to revisit the CO2 driven hypothesis. But wait, you can't, because a bunch of unelected UN bureaucrats at IPCC asserted CO2-based model as the only unequivocal measure of climate change.

woo lad dystopic technocracies are my favourite too

...literal divergence in the species coming up

>The human race will one day split into two separate species, an attractive, intelligent ruling elite and an underclass of dim-witted, ugly goblin-like creatures, according to a top scientist.

Let's be real. The people who deny climate change don't really give a fuck if it's true, or not. They just don't wanna deal with the regulations and measures that will be implemented to try and stop it.

I didn't think it was possible to miss such a simple point this badly, bravo
