Was the 1948 United Nations decision to create the Nationstate of Israel justified?

Although there was massive Anti-semitism in previously occupied countries by the Germans, as well as a en masse displacement of people in the wake of the Holocaust, was it a wise decision to force the British to cede Palestine to the French and Americans to make the country?

If they wanted to make a country for Jews, it should have been carved from Germany imo.

>force the British to cede
You do know it was a British idea, right?

No. It was quite possibly the worst mistake in a long line of mistakes that has plagued the world for decades now. I honestly have no clue what anybody at the time must have been thinking. The Levantine arabs were already right pissed off about how the peace of WW1 went down, and then they preceded to make them even more angry with the creation of Israel. They essentially put the burden of the Holocaust on a bunch of completely unrelated people simply because the West didn't want the jews in "their backyard."

This. Churcill was all for getting the Jews their own country, and more importantly, out of his own.

They should have just given Prussia to the Jews desu, would have made the stormfront crowd eternally buttflustered beyond repair.

>Force the British to cede Palestine
That's not what happen you tremendous faggot.

>"And we'll give the jews their own country, in the middle of Palestine!"

This would have made much more sense

DUDE TRUMP IS BASED

Should have given them Königsberg. Then all the jews could be Stalin's problem. hehehe

And deny them their holy land you fucking antisemitic assholes.

It's like all these anons don't realize that Jerusalem is the holy land of the Jews. It's not as if European superpowers threw darts at a map.

>It's like all these anons don't realize that Jerusalem is the holy land of the Jews.
No, we just realize the sheer retardation behind using that as the justification.

Are all of you illiterate children?

Why would they have given the jews any bit of Germany when the holocaust or any crimes against the jews wouldn't be committed for another two decades? Do none of you know any history that doesn't fucking revolve around WWII?

>was it a wise decision to force the British to cede Palestine to the French and Americans to make the country?
No, it needlessly caused conflict.
Also if America and Britain wanted a land for the Jews they could make it out of their own countries instead of another nation.

"In 1896, Theodor Herzl, a Jewish journalist living in Austria-Hungary, published the foundational text of political Zionism, Der Judenstaat ("The Jews' State" or "The State of the Jews"), in which he asserted that the only solution to the "Jewish Question" in Europe, including growing anti-Semitism, was the establishment of a state for the Jews.[16][17] A year later, Herzl founded the Zionist Organization, which at its first congress called for the establishment of "a home for the Jewish people in Palestine secured under public law". Proposed measures to attain that goal included the promotion of Jewish settlement there, the organisation of Jews in the diaspora, the strengthening of Jewish feeling and consciousness, and preparatory steps to attain necessary governmental grants.[17] Herzl died in 1904 without having gained the political standing required to carry out his agenda."

There is no reason for Palestine to have been turned into Israel except for >muh holy land

Well obviously the reason was they wanted a holy land to practice and promote their ideas and faith. It was a Jewish idea that they negotiated with the British government following WWII after the Ottoman empire was greatly weakened in the struggle.

Bad b8. This idea that jerusalem or any area in palestine was inherently belonged to the jews and magically not to the arab or christian inhabitants living there for centuries is beyond retarded. To do so on biblical grounds is a fundamentally irrational choice that should not have factored into the decision to grant the area to the jews or not (then again jerusalem has never been recognized internaltionally as the israeli capital). That said, now that the jews have formed a state and cleansed the arabs, it is basically a fait accompli abd to kick out the jews on the grounds it belongs to the arabs is just as dumb as the zionist idea and ignores that the fiubding generation is dead and the israelis now shouldnt be punished collectively for what their parents and grandparents did. Tldr right of conquest is a thing.

It should have been Greenland. Or Antarctica.

>recognised in 2017 that the declaration should have called for protection of the Palestinian Arabs' political rights
well better late than never eh? Seriously, how can you read that shit and still support the creation of Israel? I mean for fucks sake they made it while the Arabs were still fighting alongside them.

>be jew
>passive aggressively win holy war with help of enslaved british politicians
>enslave american goyim weapons manufacturers to give you billions to defend your holy land
profit

I meant to say WWI* I might add that the state was already established if not in name in British Palestine and it officially become a state after the dissolution of much of the British territories post-war.

> promote their ideas and faith
Bullshit. Religious jews of all types were AGAINST zionism up to israels independence. They only supported it when zionisfs effectively bribed them with peivileges and concessions, and even then ssctors of orthodox and hasidim to this day do not support Israel. As for the diaspora, many were against it or lulewarm about it until the 1967 war afaik, though there was a vocal and wealthy contingent thst supported it. All this said, Zionism was an overwhelmingly secular project and the idea for a jewish state in palestine was based on a NATIONALIST myth appealing to a primordial biblical past but shorn of all the religious elements of judaism.

This literally only makes the zionists look worse.

t. jew

Fuck off kike we don't want you here. We will literally make every single one of you pay.

Dunno what your talking about. British didnt give israel thst much support and a shit ton of british advisors and officers served the arab side in the 1948 war

You seem to be finally waking up. It gets way worse than this user you don't even want to know.

I dont understand how your ad hominem undermines the validity of my argument?

Proof that they didn't support it and then were bribed? You're just shilling unless you provide evidence. From the reading I've done it seems as though it was largely a collective will by the Jewish communities who felt persecuted and wanted to have a holy place to conduct themselves.

...

Articles i read in a college class. Zionists courted religious figures and most importantly ben gurion gave them lots on concessions such as control over family and civil issues and religious ones (orthodox jews have a monopoly on determing who is jewish and weddings in Israel among jews). He also literslly gave them free gibs because the hasidim (and other ultra religious) were the worst hit by the holocaust and so he exempted them from military serivce among other things. This backfired because the ultra religious breed like rabbits.

>was it a wise decision to force the British to cede Palestine
You make it sound like the Israel/Palestine region of today covered the whole of the area of the British Mandate for Palestine. The British Mandate for Palestine was a much larger area than modern day Israel/Palestine and included much of modern day Jordan as well. On top of that the larger part of the area was given to the Palestinians(Jordanians).

>largely a collective will by the Jewish communities who felt persecuted and wanted to have a holy place to conduct themselves.
how is that so when most came to israel under extreme duress and dislocstion of the 1930s and Wwii. It also belies the fact that the ashkenazi were and are a minority in Israel and are outbumbered by arab jews who were forcibly imported from arab regimes either through secret agreements (morroco tunisia yemen) or through false flag terrorism by the israeli government to force jewish expulsions (though arab rulers no doubt kicked out jews for their own reasons)

All the main zionists ideologues were also secular in outlook.

And yet nearly half of the population of the Jewish part was still arab. The jews were still given a very disproportionate amount of land.

So? 99% of MENA is Arab and they still want Israel as well. They should go back to Arabia.

>99% of MENA is Arab and they still want Israel as well
The faults in the Arabs' response to the situation over the past 60 years doesn't change the fault in the original situation to begin with. That's ethics 101 user. Should have learned that shit in elementary school.
>They should go back to Arabia.
As soon as all the white Americans and Canadian's go back to Europe, right?

Europeans brought the Americas out of the stone age but Arabs Turned MENA from one of the most advanced parts of the world into a backwards hellhole.

None of you actually care about Palestine right? You just don't want to fight to give the jews a homeland.

There was a time when I would have cared about Palestine, but they've lost any sympathy I might have had years ago. At this point it's just two assholes killing thousands over some path of desert. That said, the current state of the affair doesn't distract me from the mounds of bs that caused it in the first place, and the fact that something similar can and will happen again somewhere else if the details of this affair are blissfully ignored.
