Chilean here. We declared war on Japan after they were nuked.

Real courageous.

"Initially, Chile chose to remain neutral in the war, having close trading links with Germany. Later in the war, however, Chile distanced itself from the Axis powers, and the Chilean government took steps to dismiss pro-German military officers. Relations with Axis countries were broken in 1943, and in 1945, Chile declared war on Japan, being the last nation to join the war. As with Argentina, by this time the war was almost over.[citation needed] Throughout the duration of the war, Chile stationed several navy ships around its colony of Easter Island to protect it from a potential Japanese attack against South America."

Thats like Italy delcaring war on France two weeks before Paris was captured.

Brazil had a division fighting in Europe, supplied and commanded by the Americans.

Its worse in all honesty, the big picture was still being painted after the invasion of France. After Japan was nuked there was no other possible outcome than defeat for them.

Selling shit to both sides.

>Chile issues formal declaration of war against Japan, circa 1945

Brazil was the biggest contributor to the capitulation of Germany and Japan

fucking kek

Some of those countries provided beef.

kind of like how Germany is the biggest importers of brazilian tears.

Guatemalan here, we had a dictator in the 30s that was mates with Hitler. He actually sent the ship Emden for a military parade here (pic related). Ubico (our president) invited german civilians to the country during the war and remained neutral, although he had to side with the Allies because of pressure from the US. He resigned from office in 1944 and a liberal semi leftie government started after that. They took many properties from german migrants. Nowadays it's quite common to see people with a German surname. My paternal grandma's surname, for example, is Schaffer.

>When you get mad at south and central American counties about supporting national socialists and fascist dictatorships, but then proceed to install them 20-40 years later to block the communists.

>this time
>being marginally better than the other guy makes you the good guy

All we wanted to do was sell you stuff.

>All we wanted to do was sell you stuff.
That's how the anglos get you every time

While we were somewhat sympathizing to fascism, we remained fence-sitters until we eventually allowed Americans to build bases on our coast. Then some of our boats were supposedly sank by Germans as reprisal for that (though some say it was done by Americans to spur us on) and we declared war on them and even won a battle at Monte Castelo.

Pictured, our war sigil.

Romania declared war on Germany in 1918(again) the day before Willy threw the towel. Now that's cheeky.

t. Venezuelan

Shouldn't you be rummaging through the garbage for food right now?

Considering that Romania had been turned into a vassal state by the Germans earlier in the war at least they have some good justification.

>They took many properties from german migrants.
kek

What are you on? Most venezuelans hate commies and socialism
t. Venezuelan

Damn, the military hasn't gotten to you yet?

Nah, this is not a harsh dictatorship. I don't even think it's a dictatorship.
Goes more to the lines of socialist kleptocracy. Extreme corruption but very relaxed on anything that is not media. So I can tell them in their faces that they are shit and nothing will happen because they know it's true

Brazil fought in the war and many of the nations received large sums of money from the US. Lots of them joined the war on the side of the allies very late into the war but besides Brazil and maybe Mexico none did participate.

supplies, mostly raw materials and foodstuffs
some cucks gave naval bases for free

we all did wahaha
>Paraguay's authoritarian government under Higinio MorĂnigo was sympathetic to the Axis powers early in the war; the country's large German community in particular were supporters of Nazism, as well as most of the Paraguayan population.[67] Serious thought was given to joining the war on Germany's side, but United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt avoided this by providing aid and military hardware in 1942. Paraguay declared war on Germany on February 2, 1945, by which time the war was almost over and many Paraguayans joined the Brazilian air force for fighting the Axis Powers.[68]

In Uruguay there was a ridiculous nazi plot by a few larpers in 1940, which was exagerated by the FBI as an actual threat. Will post some pics.

...

>thst [citation needed]

Flagged by a flustered Chilean.

no they didn't make anything, they mined crucial minerals, same as sub Saharan africa.

>they didn't make anything
what is canned beef

harvested resources, you don't "make" beef, you grow cows that you slaughter.

canned beef is the product of an industrial proccess

Flip here.

I know Mexico sent an Expeditionary Air Force to fight in the Pacific under the Americans. And they achieved merit here during their actions in the liberation of the Philippines.

My hometown was their base following the Liberation.

Paraguey actually sided with Germany for a long time unofficially, but declared war on her in the final months of the war. They also have a large german population because Nietzsche sister created a German Colony there in the late 1800s

Ecuadorian here.
We went to war with Peru in 1941, but that's unrelated.
In 1942, we broke relations with the Axis powers. We allow the americans to put bases in the Galapagos Islands and Sta Elena Peninsula (on the mainland) to defend the panama canal. German citizens in the country were detained and sent to american intelligence agents. The German Highschool of Quito was closed. Many ecuadorian citizens of italian and german descent were ill treated, their goods confiscated, and their companies put in control of americans. There was even a concentration camp in Cuenca where these german and italian ecuadorian citizens were sent to,
We were USA's bitch, apparently. I don't like that

I'm sorry :(

FUCKING NOTHING !!!!

Mostly sent raw materials to the U.S. which the U.S. said would be paid for with aid after the war was over. It didn't come until Kennedy and he only did it to hedge against communism. Obviously a gross oversimplification, as some countries sent troops and volunteers or opened up ports for military use, but that's mostly it. They were America's lapdog like they were supposed to be. Really odd considering how much money Germany pumped into the region. Iirc, there are still schools in Latin America that were founded by the Third Reich, complete with portraits of Hitler still up and everything.

ah Paraguay, nothing really surprisses me there.

we were too busy with civil wars and with neighbours invading than to get involved in global politics.

>complete with portraits of Hitler still up
Source? Pictures would suffice

>Wilhelm throws in the towel the day after Romania declares war
Why did he do this? Did he fear the Romanian warrior?
