Why do people live for so long in Genesis before the flood happened?

Why do people live for so long in Genesis before the flood happened?

It's a metaphor for their power level

Fun fact: In chinese mythologie the "Fore-emperors" lived for ten thousand years

didn't god curse them with short lifespan at some point

It is to complex and metaphorical for a simple minded person like you to comprehend the message.

Because some retard confused the word for a lunar month with the word for a year, look it up.
Methuselah = 969 months = 75 years

Possibly shortening our lifespans was part of the punishment that came with the flood, see Genesis 6:3, although there have been other interpretations of that verse. It wouldn't make a lot of sense since he was going to immediately kill all the people he wanted to punish and he's have no immediate reason to punish Noah's descendants. I think the idea that the past had some sort of golden age is universal though. Or it could be related to the idea that things back then were "larger than life" the same reason there are myths of giants being more populous than they were in later eras.

cannabis and peace

Fun fact, Genesis covers more time than the rest of the Bible put together.

Better diet
Better overall health
Divine protection/connection.

Jew's only remember as far back to the end of Dwapara Yuga when people lived up to 1000 years. They've got it mixed up with the creation of the humanity.

Fun fact, genesis was written by two different authors. This can be most clearly seen in the two (slightly) different creation stories.

Why were they so fucking cheap?

At least two

It's fiction, idiot.

>First post best post

They didn´t eat meat.

Maybe it is genetic degeneration.

Meant to display the might and power of "our" ancestors.

"People" did not live a very long time. Some selected individuals were miraculously given long lifespans to provide a bit of leadership and continuity in a nascent humanity. Everyone who wasn't specifically mentioned lived a more or less normal lifespan, and those people were not supposed to be representative.

Fucking brainlet, don’t you fucking understand that it’s fucking metaphor? Fucking slojak fedoras can’t fucking into the based Bible. Reported and saged.

Yep, he said no one shall live past 120 years, which is pretty accurate seeing how fow people live long past 120

wasn't the world in pralaya for the entirety of the krta yuga? isn't it written that most "people" at that time lived in heaven
varaha rescues the earth from it at the transition from krta to dvapara if I'm not wrong.
Adam has a lot of similarities with Manu, and Noah's flood the same as the Matsya story.

source?

Seriously?
Modern scientists estimate that the maximum age for a human is 125, before cells stop reproducing.
How the fuck did the ancients know this.

Even as a Christian it's fairly obvious that this is just compensation for the massive time difference between the Garden of Eden and the Flood.

less genetic damage

The flood didn't happen, people were not living for hundreds of years back then, the bible is a really boring and dry read and the nonsense it spouts on the regular should not be taken as a fact.

Moreh Nevuchim, Book 2, chapter 47.

keto diet

>How the fuck did the ancients know this.
They noticed that nobody lived past 120.

heresy

how the FUCK did they live to that age in an era before modern medicine, and when conflict was as common as the fucking cold

Some people still lived comfortable lives. Just not most people.

>(((Moreh Nevuchim)))
wtf do kikes know about the word? Just trying to cover up that back then the world was nordic aryan whites who lived great lifespans before being corrupted and enslave by noah and his jew filfth. whites survived the flood using icebergs as rafts and then spreaqd civilization to the mud people from the north

>Ctrl + F "month"
>only one post
Brainlets

>Abraham only lived 175 months

It is a shame the talmud is really hard to get your hands on unless you (((believe)))
