>Work in Cucknada, private sector jobs are shit and pay nothing unless you're "in the know" (spoiler: I'm not) >Actually super competent and know 3 languages (white even) but annoyed at slaving for 36k in backwater shit poor province with no hope >Decide to try and start at mid level position at federal gov in the capital and double my salary. Give myself a year to do this.
>... >1 year later >shortlisted for 16 jobs, doing testing and interviews for 6+ other jobs I applied for >have done over 12 tests for all of these positions (passed every one easily) >Aced language tests >Great references got me to the next steps >final round of hiring for 2 jobs >Still no job offer because lazy shits take forever to process my testing or they just end up giving the job to some local person who already has all the tests done >Literally have to do testing (which takes weeks) for one job, fall out of the hiring process cuz it took too long for tests to be complete, only to continue doing THE SAME TESTING for another job and repeat the process >IE: Take finger prints for one job, takes 2 weeks, another job requests them, takes 8 weeks to get these fingerprints from other job who requested them >fall out of the process >Endless hard credit checks, each department wants their own credit check >Tonnes of money lost for travelling to interviews, which has had a huge negative effect on my employment as it's probably obvious I'm gearing up to leave
I fucking hate this. More than 1 year later, I've aced all the tests and interviews and I'm still jobslaving at the bank. I have to write 1000s of words tonight if I want to remain in the process for another year and get shortlisted for a dozen or so jobs next year but I'm my fucking breaking point here
Wow. That sounds like shit, and you're pretty retarded for going with it for as long as you have. You've committed too much time IMO and can't turn back. Either commit further or kill yourself.
Jaxson Jones

I'm interviewing for jobs that pay like 70-80k to START. I have to go deeper.. but I'm so fucking demotivated. At one point I even called my client at the bank to be my reference. She did it and I was going to be the economic manager of Canada for a niche product BUT
>user you gotta start here ASAP but you gotta take some language tests, were going to hand this over to another department) >Other department books me out like 2 weeks from now in a city that is fucking far away when I live literally minutes from the testing center in my city >"no, you cannot take the tests in your city" >Wait two weeks, take the test, literally just some shit you punch your ABCD answers and it calculates them insantly >"it takes 2 weeks to process these results" >"our servers are shut down for yearly week maintenance" >"the person in charge of forwarding your results is on vacation" >keep in my this is only step one of the process, there are other language tests after this >employer inevitably ghosts me >ask for update >Get a reply 2 weeks later >"We will contact you later in this work week" (THEY SAID THIS ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON) >never hear back

>financially independent >slaving 8 hours a day, paycheck to paycheck for good goy bux hheheheheheheh
Bentley Rodriguez
I thought of this but I don't even have the free time because I work slaving like 50 hours a week at a super stressful job.
I am actually learning a tonne of good shit which is landing me good potential opportunities that would pay more than that stuff, which Canada will sell out soon to hordes of pajeets anyway
Blake Thompson
You should really think about this one user.
Adrian Moore
sounds like you're getting angry at customer service people which is pretty fucking stupid

>IE: Take finger prints for one job, takes 2 weeks, another job requests them, takes 8 weeks to get these fingerprints from other job who requested them
finger prints when applying for a job ? wtf is this common where you live ?
Gavin Wood
they aren't customer service people. They are government agents... have you ever dealt with a government agent? Damned if you do, damned if you don't
>Bug them: They might do the job >don't bug them: they certainly won't get it done on time
The main issue is that I'm skipping the bottom levels of the feds and it's not common to enter mid-way up from the "outside" especially when you're not connected. So the process for me to enter is way longer and more time-sensitive, and I'm competing against a bunch of internal employees who can openly tell their employers their getting a new job and set a quit date months in advance
Chase Nelson
It's not. im not applying for normie jobs user.
Ethan Morris
>Work in Cucknada, private sector jobs are shit and pay nothing FUCKING FAGGOT I'm not even reading the rest of this shit. The company I'm working on is based in Canada but since I'm working remotely (from Greece) I'm getting paid in Greek amounts. I have 3 times more workload than my coworkers and I get paid 1kCAD a month while they get 3k+.
If you live in that continent you can see to the left on the maps, you don't get to whine about not getting paid enough.
>inb4 b-but muh rent Rent and bill costs are the same over here.
Sebastian Young
yeah but being born european is basically a scam.
Dominic Foster
sorry greekbro, I hope the byzantines come back and sort shit out.
I have lived in very poor places and do understand where you're coming from. But keep in mind I also have to put up with a country that has 0 culture, is super boring, and is frozen/rainy all the time.
Something you do not have to put up with. So fuck yeah, 36k will NEVER be close to enough for this country
Cooper Perry
Lol move to america
Sebastian Perez
man that was TLDR just buy AST and you're good
Luis Ramirez
implying you cant buy everything for less than a third of what it would cost in Canada
Grayson Anderson
acutally, this, wtf. Fuck off greek, you probably have more disposable income then your coworkers
Grayson Flores
I already know weeb, can you actually make money doing this? I thought it was all pro bono

Hey fellow Canuck, I have a question for you, can you please let me know your e-mail (not your work e-mail on Veeky Forums of course, just a casual one).

Jaxson Wood
I make 200$-300$ a day doing almost nothing. I wake up when I want, I do what I want. I spend 40$ a day just for HQ food.
I'm 20 years old. Guess what I do?

No one does, we just have to. Sometimes I envy normies. They can do boring as shit jobs and put up with it, and dull the pain with frivolous debt accumulation.

Same boat here user. My family is batshit crazy (they all have Borderline Personality Disorder).
I literally have nobody. I've been slaving away the wagecuck life for 21 years now. Every fucking day has been hell. I only make 32k a year.
Fuck my life.
Joshua Morris
I gave you my email after, I was more worried about other anons
wondering what you got to say actually

You have me intrigued user. I'm interested in learning more. I'd be willing to paypal you $15 to share some knowledge.

dude save up a few thousand and get certified for some boring IT shit and then just do that and eventually you'll make 50k at least
are you serious?
Grayson Scott
>implying Canada isn't already trying to find out how to turn IT and programming into another underpaid job (importing pajeets by the thousands) which it is already doing as fast as possible
Asher Lewis
In fact no, everything is the same, if not more expensive here. Especially peanut butter (not that it matters but why is peanut butter so cheap there)
Aaron Butler
move out of athens then. You can't expect a shit job to let you live in the City, 36k in Toronto would get you on the streets or living with 2 other people in a small basement appartment
John Wilson
I don't make enough to save anything. After rent, utilities, food, etc..
I've always been on my own, barely scraping by all these years. There has never been anyone to turn to for help.
Jason Roberts
I'm a hoarder so maybe I do, but that's not because things here are cheper. It's just that our economy is dying so everything is overpriced without sufficient salaries. Technically what I'm getting paid for the Canadian job is slightly more than the average wage in Greece, but it's still a scam since they do this on purpose.
Zachary Bennett
I give you that, but I can't bring myself to leave my friends and family. Plus the main office is in Thunder Bay and living there is a chore, it doesn't compare to Toronto.
Xavier Wilson
ah shitty, you have an above average wage in a beautiful country that's rich in culture, great food, history, people and a great ambient temperature
I cannot fathom how you do it user. Trade places with me so you can earn below average wages in a soulless frozen shithole? I'm sure you'll feel privileged then.
Ayden Morgan
Fuck. I was just thinking about moving to Canada too.
Are jobs usually shit there? Even with a degree?
what do you do senpai? I need to quit my job.
Ayden Allen
this doesn't tell us much friend.
Levi Nelson
>a beautiful country The islands are, the cities are far uglier than anything in Canada. >rich in culture >history That's not going to help me get more money user. >great food I give you that, you guys drink cough syrup and call it rootbeer. >people user no, take me for example. >great ambient temperature Okay I suddenly feel privileged, the cold there is probably not worth the money.
Jokes aside though, both countries have their pros and cons. My point is that out of all countries with a shitty economy, seeing a Canadian complain about not getting paid enough is a little cocky.
Alexander Smith
> My point is that out of all countries with a shitty economy, seeing a Canadian complain about not getting paid enough is a little cocky.
It's not cocky. Wages in Canada are not matching the cost of living here. Canadians are all in debt and no one is saving for retirement. It's a total house of cards. This country is going to crash in the next 40 years, very hard.
Jaxson Sanchez
>One bedroom condo: $1,769/month Shit I'm so sorry user.
my room mate with an arts degree just got a $50k/yr (she says this is her take-home) gubmint job in ottawa because of a friend's rec
i earn less, work in the tech sector as an engineer and i also got my job through a long shot recommendation
jobs here are fucking trash, and the cost of living is retarded. they let people who can't afford homes stockpile mortgages they can never pay and now they are jacking up interest for mortgage by TWENTY PERCENT
i hate the politicians here so much
Easton Cox

I know dude I broker mortgages and it sickens me the amount of people that come in with $300 asking for a mortgage like it's owed to them
worst seeing retards with maxed out CCs getting mortgages
The amount of times daily I get appointments that basically boil down to "user, I would like to spend money I don't have :)" and they act like they've just made a genious financial decision
I flat out tell people to discipline themselves when they ask me for "money saving tips from the pros"
"user, can you make it so I can't access my savings account"
"No, discipline yourself"
On my walk home where I live in the welfare neighbourhood (can't afford anything else) I walk past people smoking weed on their porch with GIBS money and Syrian refugees pushing along 4 kids who live in houses nicer than I can ever hope to have at my rate.
I pay 33% taxes to these shits.
I'm afraid I'm becoming totally redpilled.
Alexander Green
I did some freelancing for a bit, but is dead end pajeets are stealing all the jobs for almost not pay
Nathan Ward
Crap, way to make me feel even worse. Are you doing freelancing? Is it easy to get a freelancing job? Never tried but I heard it's hard to land one because of the competition.
