Finally put up 2pl8 on bench

>finally put up 2pl8 on bench

Hey me too user
Decided to try it today before the cut affected my strength (2 days into cut)
Got 2 reps out of it. Was hoping for 1 if at all
Pleasant surprise.
Well time for my strength to plummet

>tfw not even 2pl8 yet

>5'8/150 pounds
>started lifting 2 months ago
>Still not at 1 pl8
Every time I have to load 25,10, and 5 on each side I die a littbit. Just looking at it feels shitty, I want to see a big 45 on each side man.

>mfw finally put up 1pl8 on bench

I know it's a shit achievement to you guys, but I've been weak my whole life.

>tfw you have baby manlet hands and you need chalk + mixed grip to DL 3 pl8

I'm like 215lb bench
so fucking close.

I can do 1pl8, but I'm too afraid of the bar falling on me, so I stick to bench like machines

>tfw 5'9 150
>just reached 200 bench after about a year
You'll make it user

>5'7", 145lb
>asian turbo manlet
>265lb flat bench for 5x3

it's like you guys aren't trying.

I know that feel. It just became my working set of 3x5
>tfw I hurt my right shoulder though
And there go the gains.

>5'7
We don't need to try user
You've already lost

At least I'm not asian.

Do farmer's walks. They significantly improved my grip strength.

im not a farmer tho i don't even like vegetables

>start lifting in last November
>hit 1pl8 bench press by March
>uhoh, shoulder injury
>cleared to exercise bench press last week
>20 pounds on each side is as much as I can do
>fuck

>bench 3pl8 but single for 18 years

1. Eat
2. Moar

Seriously. That is your problem. Do GOMAD, and eat a lot alongside it.

I started off at 148 lbs and just under 5'8", and I went from under 1pl8 to 160 in about five weeks. I now weight about 168 lbs (peaked at 172, got tired of eating, lifts started stalling, going back to eating like swine).

>finally put up 2pl8 squat
>can't progress past 1.111 (repeating) pl8 bench

Fucking kill me bros how do I do this. I'm eating 3400 calories a day at 160lbs at 6'0 and I'm getting plenty of protein.

Eat more - your bodyweight is still low. Also, what's your bench program look like and how often are you doing it?

I'm doing GSLP, but I stopped deloading after missed sets which is a major part of the program a few months ago because now it always takes me multiple attempts to increase weight. The other difference is I've been doing it every other day instead of three times a week, but I'm going to stop doing that since I think I need more rest.

Braj after my 4 month cut never repping more than lmao1,5pl8 i could still do 3 reps with 2pl8 cut right and your strength wont suffer too bad

Eating more has always been difficult for me, I have to set alarms to remember to eat, and I get sick if I try to eat more

what exactly are the plate weights you're all talking about? I assume max plates but what are they in America?

Gratz bro, but honestly I don't see why 2 pl8 bench is a milestone. I hit it real quick, just having trouble with my 4 pl8 diddlys

>tfw at 385 lb on bench
Feels good brah

45 lbs lad

OP here, it took me along time because I was fat as fuck and fealt like the fit life was just going to be a permacut forever with zero strength gains. Was able to start my first bulk this fall only a month in can't wait to see what other PR's I hit

Still trying to get to 1pl8 on bench...

Do you bench alone without a spotter?

When was the last time you had to wiggle yourself out from under the weights because you did too much than you could handle?

Yes
Never so far. I do weights I know I can handle.
did 2pl8 for 6 reps first time on Tuesday

Just hit 203 after a year god this is so hard

2bh it's probably mental, i bet you can lift 135lbs if you put it on with 25,10,10

>When was the last time you had to wiggle yourself out
Learn to bail safely, you don't need to wiggle shit.

>Did 80 kg for 2
Im gonna make it to 2pl8 one day lads

>just hit 1pl8 deadlift

> me benching 95 kg 1,5 months ago
>One month not working out properly due to life
> Now can press only 85
Shiit !

How? I'm the weakest motherfucker there is. I've been lifting for half a year or so and haven't hit 1pl8 bench yet (almost). I could do a 1pl8 deadlift the first time.

we all start somewhere m8, keep at it

>bench keeping pace with body weight
Disappointment

I might be the weakest one here, m8. When I started lifting I couldn't OHP my arms.

Good job user, I remember my first 2pl8. It was quite the BENCH mark in my life.

>pity lol

>can't progress
>160lbs at 6'0
Yea.

>haven't worked out in a year
>start at 2pl8
>8 reps
>mrw

this picture is so fucking anime it kills me LMAO

Wikihow is a treasure trove. Visit it sometime.

>5'11
>hands and feet are disproportionately small
>girlfriend's hands are bigger than mine
>some girls' hands are bigger than mine
>didly lmao 3.5pl8 without chalk and other retarded memes

You're just gay.

Lmao 1 arm.

Good for you, user.

Dude, you fucked up. Slow the fuck down.

i benched 120kg for 8 reps today

Nice fat gains !

Anyone can bench high when their range of motion is tiny.

This. I'm so close that it hurts knowing that I failed my last bench session.

>tfw bench is getting so high that I don't trust people to spot me anymore

why are spotters so fucking stupid

i had a guy this week who i was saying over and over as i'm under the fucking bar "let go" "let go now" "i've got it...let go" in the end I just reracked and he was going "whoa bro sick!"

Just curious OP. Was that your 1RM
And how much can you dumbbell bench press for at least 5x5

Yes, 1rm. Last time I did dumbells I was doing 80s on incline

Roll

finally hit 200lbs bench, friends

im a neet eating 1k cals a day and im still skinny fat

feelsbadman

>finally convince my fat m8 to be gymbro
>lets try bench
>he's never ever lifted
>put 20 on each side
I think I can do more
>put 5 more on
More i think
>replace 5 with 10
More
>replace 10 with 20...
Uh more?
>... 1 pl8
This is... About right
>does 7 reps and wobbles on the last

Took months for me to one pl8...

So your grip strength is good. Now fuck off

>repping 185 on the BP deez daze

Should I go for the 2pl8 1RM?

It really is

There's this thing called time. Takes a while to build muscle. Be patient. As long as you are progressing, you're probably doing alright.

If you are stalling and you are at that weight (body and lifting), then something is wrong.
