So, Veeky Forums, was he right in his grievances with the Church at the time? If he were alive today do you think he would do the same thing again?

I mean a lot of the bullshit the church was pulling did kind of push him to his decision and it was only the church's continual bullshit that pushed him further and further from the church.

He was the start of the fall of European Civilization, yes Catholicism was far different from the bible and contained pagan and unchristian customs but that was a good thing, for we are Europeans and Christianity was a jewish middle eastern invention. For a while it suited us while it was embroidered with European/pagan traditions but once they were stripped away and the true face of Christianity was revealed(in Protestantism) it wasn't long before we realized how foreign it was, so we rebelled against it and abandoned the faith(notice how all the prominent atheists are either jewish or from protestant families). Now devoid of all the stiff that made Christianity magical and familiar to us Europeans the Protestant countries were the first to give up their faith while the Catholics still maintained it, how ironic it would be if Luther could see this today

Fuck Judaism in all its forms.

But why? I'm Jewish and I enjoy practicing quite a bit. Care to elaborate?

Reminder not to engage in conversation with pol users like this

>enjoy practicing

Lmao what are you Goldberg

Go practice getting booed by vanilla midget loving smarks cuz they don't know how your matches are supposed to go

>reminder to run back to your safespace when encountered with opposing view points

More like Catholic countries are more backwards, superstitious, and poor and are for that reason less apt to adopt post-enlightenment ideals than the earliest industrialized nations.

The church was resented for its greed and violence, that is why the people of europe embraced the reformation

>scare people into paying you money so they dont go to hell
>criticizing this is bad
most of the protestant movement was not Luthers work anyway, he did not want to create a new church

>that is why the people of europe embraced the reformation
Yeah, all the people killed by Calvino and all those burned or killed by prots sure embraced reformation.

Calvin did nothing wrong,he was a fallible man who made mistakes defending his nation, your infallible popes have no such excuse

The body of the Church was corrupt but he was wrong to start a schism. Also Protestant theology is literally shit tier.

Luther didn't start the schism; the pope was the one who excommunicated him.

It was also never Luther's intention to create something new, he only wanted to improve the ways of the catholic church

>excommunicating heretics is bad
Should have fucking burned him

You are so hateful right now.

Also Luther remained a faithful Catholic throughout his life, he just merely stopped being Roman.

At least they dont worship idols-which is forbidden by god

there was a prophet active in the early 7th century that I think you might like

>Asking someone to pray for you is idolatry
>Recognizing that Mary is blessed amongst women is idolatry
Protestantism: Not even once

>Praying to anyone other than the Father in the name of the Son through the power of the Spirit
>not idolatry
