I just got a student job as a cashier in our town's big supermarket

I was working in incredibly busy retail stores and doing a really good job for 3 years before I even went to the gym. Have you ever even been to a store? Cashiers are usually not fit, attractive, or incredibly sociable. It's one of the most basic entry level jobs and nearly anybody can do it.

Don't mean to shit on your success but come on man, fitness and being a cashier have nothing to do with each other.

In my defense, the supermarket is literally run by a jew and all the other cashiers are young and at least a bit above average looking.

I got the job after talking to the manager and they immediately let me man the cash register for the entire morning. Now I've got a decently paying student job.

It all went so easily. Unlike my numerous attempts to find a student job when I was fat.

My grocer almost exclusively hires literally retarded guys and hot high school jb girls.

Your job is literally one of the least sexy jobs there is. Not trying to provoke you, but it is the truth.

I've worked as a cashier in three different supermarkets, at a movie theater, and also as a bartender. All these because I always liked having my own money and not asking for my parents to give it to me. I paid my college, my driver's licence and all my clothes.

But literally the only job I had where girls were actually nice to me and I managed to pull numbers was as a bartender.

I don't give a fuck about the sexiness of my job. I just like the fact that a business is willing to put me in a very public position.

You did ask about if that made you fit and attractive. But I guess now you meant as a general thing relatively to your old "you". Good luck anyway, and try to get something better when you can.

I think it was your confidence and ability to represent yourself in a positive way. You probably carry yourself better and think better of yourself now that you're not fat -people pick up on stuff like that.

idk about you guys but I can't serve customers anymore. I worked retail for 4 years full time and I'm just not capable of serving people anymore...I can't do it.

I don't think I could do it either after 4 years of retail. I work at a gym now (not as a trainer) and I still do customer service stuff but it's so much better than my other jobs. I think it has to do with the people I see being regulars most of the time rather than the thousands of faces that would come thru my store and never be seen again at my old jobs. I like that I see and talk to customers that I'm familiar with every day rather hundreds of complete strangers all day long.
