really big guys don't count. they struggle getting into the proper start position so they do a rolling start instead. even so, if you pay attention to their lift you'll see that the bar doesn't actually leave the ground until their hips are in the correct position.

What you're likely seeing is development of your hip stabilizers, which is good, you'll need those to be strong to prevent injury when doing squats.
