I fell for it too.

>Training more than 3 days a week is over training
Explain.
>Lifting natty isn't a waste of time
Oh. I see.

It literally is all you need, but the thing is you can't just do it on the 5 rep max intensity, you need to do it at 8+ rep range as well.

I generally have 5x5 or 3x5 for OHP but I 100% always add in some sets of 8-10 reps with a lighter weight, as well as some OHP-BtN (behind the neck) again, with even less weight.

Arnie use to do OHP-BtN with only using 40kg for high rep.

Lateral raises are GOAT

Dick gains.

My shoulders blew up once I added more volume, unsurprisingly.

>inb4 naturals can't handle volume

Are they natty

it literally isn't all you need though

you need to hit side delts, you need to hit rear delts

OHP does not do this nearly as effectively as lateral raises and rear delt raises or face pulls

if you only have a hammer everything looks like a nail, OHP is a great lift but it's silly to be minimalist like this and ignore good isolation exercises if your goal is to develop those muscles

naturals can't handle volume ;]

Deadlifts

I fell for the barbel meme.

Doing everything except deads with dumbbells now. Barbels don't allow for proper range of motion for rows, benches and ohps.

Also, dem stabilizer muscles.

>you fell for the diet and exercise meme
>implying it's not all genetics

there now everyone pay attention to me and give me (you)s

natty brothers

I think it was a very poor attempt at trolling. Only Internet lifters don't do isolation work and their results speak for themselves.

Same, TBQH. I fell for the dick gains meme, too. Can't believe Veeky Forums fooled me into thinking I could enlarge my 4" cock.

I should just an hero myself.

Fell for the powerbuilding meme. I got fat and slow like fuck. Injured and sick all the time. Horrible mess right now.

dont fall for the dick size matters meme
the whole media and popculture is pushing a mega dick size narrative.
Thats why niggers only have one argument point: muh dick white boi!!4! and the girls believe it because they only seen 10inch nigga dicks in porn.
There is atleast a billion other men with 4inch dick. They dont hang themselves because it can pleasure a woman and fuck size queens. You can always get a younger and tighter woman till your 50s. Many woman are talking like they are some kind of sex queens. They arent. Most of them have shitty disgusting boobs and stretch marks but you never know this because thier clothes hide thier imperfections very well and enchance thier traits.
Most of the 8/10, 9/10 and perfect woman pictures are the same: make up, lot of filters, posing, ps, styled hair, colored contact lenses and a bunch of other lies.

lifting will make you more confident

OHP is all you need for big shoulders, but you should probably add in some sort of rows too for the posterior delts.
OHP can take some time though, so you have to stick with it. I can do 155lbs for 5 reps (with my long arms!) now and my shoulders look good enough to merit comments.

>Barbell bench press for chest

This is a fucking front delt exercise with shit rom. Decline flyes, dumbbell press and dips are goat.

This thread is a retarded waste of time and I hereby diagnose all previous posters with autism

>OHP is all you need for big shoulders
If you do a lot of OHP, it's enough. 3x5 once per week is not enough. Also it takes a while.

>No need to do curls compounds train your biceps enough
If by "compounds" you mean SQ/BP/DL, no, they don't train your biceps. If you include rows and chinups, it can be enough. (Provided you do a lot of them, just like OHP)

You won't get bodybuilder-tier arms that way, but you won't have underdeveloped biceps either.
>You HAVE to squat to build big legs
Nobody says this. You should squat because it's a great exercise, but you can get away with no squatting and build big legs.

>Deadlifts are good for hypertrophy
Again, if you do a lot of them and do them heavy, they can help build your whole back and legs. Are they alone enough? Of course not.

>Training more than 3 days a week is over training
>Never go over 5 reps and do not do more than 4 exercises (over training)
This is good advice for beginners, because they need to get used to the workload and putting them on a 6/week PPL with 2 hour training sessions is just going to burn them out.
Once you're more advanced, your lifting needs to get specific to your goals anyways, there just is no way you can make such simple rules.
For a well-rounded athlete, everything between 1-20 reps has its place. But for a beginner, 5 reps is the perfect balance between intensity and volume.
As for "no more than 4 exercises": Pretty nobody needs to hit each muscle in 3 different angles with 3 different exercises.
2-3 compounds and 1-2 isolation exercises per workout should be enough. If you want/need more volume, you're better off doing more sets of compounds than adding isolation exercises

>Lifting natty isn't a waste of time
If you want to be a pro bodybuilder, or a internationally competitive lifter, it's most likely a waste, yes. But to be strong and healthy and look good, lifting natty is enough and mostly not worth the downsides and cost of taking gear.

>Lifting natty isn't a waste of time

Sure if you're in a rush, have shit genetics and the work ethic of a typical millennial. Otherwise, glad to see how much wisdom you have acquired in your first three months of lifting.

>Flat bench is good for chest hypertrophy

get to ~250x10 (at

>sets of 10 shiggy diggy

i used to never do OHP, it fucking blew up my delts. of course, i still did other shoulder accessories before i started doing ohp, but i got those frieza-tier delts once i starting trying to get strong on my ohp.

>starting
**started

sorry im drunk

>Drinking
GOOD BYE GAINS

Deadlift ARE good for hypertrophy. Tell me a better lift for building hooouuuge traps and forearms, and a broad back

Finger curls, shrugs, rows.

>OHP is all you need for big shoulders

I guarantee OP has shitty OHP and shoulders

>No need to do curls compounds train your biceps enough

this is actually kinda tru, bicep curls aren't 100% useless BUT if you do a lot of compound lifts you will get jacked arms, esp weighted pullups

>You HAVE to squat to build big legs

no but why the fuck wouldn't you

>Deadlifts are good for hypertrophy

lol just bc it hits more than just glamour muscles doesn't mean it isn't good for hypertrophy you fucking idiot

>Training more than 3 days a week is over training

ok yea this is true too many ppl are worried about overtraining when they haven't even hit their limit

>Never go over 5 reps and do not do more than 4 exercises (over training)

see above

>Lifting natty isn't a waste of time

lol just bc it takes longer to get big doesn't mean it's a waste

I started lifting 4 years ago (took it seriously 2 years ago) and I'm still not happy with my body/numbers.. it's a fucking journey man

i'm still very dyel, but I've been getting good hypertrophy results from ohp 3x5, band facepulls 3x10, and rear delt flys 3x10 while on a fucking cut

Did you also fall for the earth is flat meme? Gosh, stupidest shit I've heard in quite some time.

>compounds are all you need for abs

never skip core day, senpaitachi.

You're mostly spot on with this one..Western culture is just fuckin shit up.

>Veeky Forums is in anyway superior to the bodybuilding.com and t-nation forums when it comes to actual fitness
