It's one of the common misconceptions about religion.
A monotheistic god can't be omniscient, omnipotent and omnibenevolent at the same time by definition. One of the three qualities has to not apply (unless you count the deity as being some kind of alien being with blue and orange morality in wich case, the religions of the book become more of a weird cult)

Being logical about this doesn't matter, because Average Joe Christian believes that God has a plan for them and that god is all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-benevolent. Yet they think they can alter this plan despite the fact that they believe that their God is all of those things.

I went through 13 years of religious schooling and 4 years of serious theology before I realized this all hinged on a fucking unproveable idea. It's all just a fucking myth, same as any other religion.

My biggest gripe is that Christianity, not some variant of Indo-European paganism, became the dominant religion of the West. IMO, the values of old Europe are so much better for holding together a society.

Given that free will exists, and also given His knowledge of all events past and present, why would an omnibenevolent being create a person whose existence will consist of primarily torture? Eg, he creates a person knowing full well they will not believe of their free will thus damning themselves to eternal torment, how is creating them at all a moral choice?
